The Washington County Holstein Association's annual meeting and banquet scheduled for Feb. 12 was canceled due to inclement weather. The meeting and banquet has been rescheduled for Feb. 27, at 7 p.m., at the Western Sizzler Steakhouse on York Road. Mrs. Patricia A. Padula (Patsy Forrest), 73, of Branson, Mo., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013. Patricia Ann Padula was born Jan. 23, 1940, in Hagerstown, Md., to Austin and Vera (Myers) Forrest. She was a legal secretary during her lifetime in Hagerstown. Patricia retired to Florida, then moved to Branson about five years ago. She had attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown, Md., and Faith Life Church in Branson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Padula; and her parents.

Steven Michael Tyler Sr., 61 APRIL 2, 1948-APRIL 24, 2009 Steven Michael Tyler Sr., 61, of Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, April 24, 2009, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Md. Born April 2, 1948, in Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late Charles Robert and Joyce Evelyn Williams Tyler. He was formerly employed by USA Cartage Inc. He is survived by one son, Steven M. Tyler Jr. and wife, Sharon A. Tyler, of Hagerstown; two sisters, Carolyn Brooks and Ruby Barnett, both of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.

There will be a classic car cruise-in Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. in Byron Memorial Park, off U.S. 11. The rain date will be Friday, Sept. 20. Food will be available for purchase provided by the Ladies of the Williamsport Moose, Potomac Family Restaurant, Smitty's Williamsport Creamery and Williamsport Boy Scout Troop 17. Entertainment will be provided by the band Chubby. There will also be a 50/50 drawing. A donation of $4 is requested. All proceeds will benefit underprivileged children in Williamsport for Christmas.

HALFWAY -- A Washington County Sheriff's deputy pulled a woman out of her Halfway house Sunday morning after noticing that her house was on fire, he said. The woman, who lived in the home alone, had a bandage on one hand, but refused to be transported for medical treatment, according to a woman sitting with her on a neighbor's porch. The one-story brick home at 17514 York Road received heavy smoke and fire damage, and was unlivable, said Ed Ernst, deputy fire chief with the Volunteer Fire Co. of Halfway.
