A 37-year old Baltimore man was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg to more than 21 years in prison after admitting to dealing more heroin and crack cocaine near Winchester Avenue Elementary School. Kevin Edward Moses was sentenced to 262 months or 21 years and 10 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh, U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld's office announced Tuesday. Following his release, Moses is to be placed on supervised release for six years, according to a news release from Ihlenfeld's office.

Bill Emerson and the Sweet Dixie Bluegrass Band played in Winchester, Va., last summer on the courthouse steps. Jack Wink of Berkeley Springs had the honor of playing with the band to a tune titled “Faded Love” with the band's fiddle player. Wink was known as Petty Officer Wink at Navy Recruiting Office in Falls Church, Va.  Wink met Emerson in the Navy in 1973. Emerson served 20 years in the Navy and retired as a master chief. Wink served 20 years and retired as a first class petty officer.
