SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Shepherd University has partnered with Frontier Communications to provide wireless Internet access to several additional buildings on Shepherd's campus. The new Frontier network will be available in McMurran Hall, Reynolds Hall, Knutti Hall, White Hall, Robert C. Byrd Science and Technology Center, Snyder Hall and Frank Center Theater, the school announced this week. The original Shepherd wireless network is available in the Student Center, Scarborough Library, Ikenberry Hall, Erma Ora Byrd Hall, Wellness Center, Butcher Center, Dining Hall and Center for Contemporary Arts, according to the release.

Mark Bradley McAbee, 51, of Kannapolis, N.C., died during a construction accident at his home on Aug. 6, 2011. He was born May 31, 1960, in Hagerstown, Md., the son of Madolyn Peters McAbee and the late Edwin McAbee Mark was a 1978 graduate of Williamsport (Md.) High School. He was also a graduate of RETS. Mark's greatest love was his children, daughter Annsley is 6, Madison is 8, and Blake is 10. In addition to his mother and children, Mark is survived by his sisters and a brother, Lindsay Norris of Parkersburg, W.Va., Julie Parker of White Hall, Md., and Emilee Draper of Williamsport, and Douglas McAbee of Hagerstown.

-JULY 21, 2011 Judith Boggs Mackert, 73, of The Villages, Fla., died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Cornerstone Hospice. Mrs. Mackert was born in Belle, W.Va., the daughter of James A. Boggs and Ressie Snyder Boggs. She spent most of her childhood in Gassaway, W.Va., where she graduated from high school in 1955. She moved to The Villages in 2007 from The Woods Resort in Hedgesville, W.Va. She is a former member of Fountain Head Country Club in Hagerstown, Md. She is a graduate of Richmond Professional Institute with a degree in fashion design.

(Wolf) Brandt, 70, of Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of Rouzerville, Pa., and Brunswick, Md., died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown after an extended illness. Born Oct. 13, 1942, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of Kathryn (Sease) Wolf of Waynesboro, Pa., and the late Kenneth Wolf. She attended Waynesboro High School until her senior year. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1960. She and her husband of 50 years, Charles William Brandt, were married July 26, 1963, in Hagerstown.

AUG. 10, 1921-FEB. 7, 2009 FREDERICK, Md. - Mr. Harry Lee Whittington, 87, of Frederick, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at the Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Walkersville. He was the loving husband of Annabelle Baker Whittington. Born in White Hall, Va., on Aug. 10, 1921, he was a son of the late Lewellyn Laython and Nellie Elizabeth Burke Whittington. Mr. Whittington proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in New Guinea, and received many ribbons and metals.
