HAGERSTOWN - Eddie Dziuk began raising beagles 30 years ago, when he was a student at St. Maria Goretti High School. Now, he's co-owner of Uno - the beagle who recently was named Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, held Feb. 11-12 at New York's Madison Square Garden. Uno is the first beagle to win Best in Show honors. For people like Dziuk who show dogs, winning Best in Show at Westminster is "everybody's ultimate dream. I feel I worked at it a long, long time," Dziuk said in a telephone interview.

Margaret Ann Langford, 52, of Westminster, Md., died Friday, May 29, 2009, at The Dove House in Westminster. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jane Corneilus Sweigert Young, 80, of Westminster, Md., and formerly of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Westminster. Graveside services will be announced at a later date.

Edna Estelle (Grannigan) McDonald, 90, of Westminster, Md., died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, in Westminster. Etta Mae Akers, 86 of Westminster, Md., died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville, Md. The service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville, Md.

Edward Lee Pine, 93, of Westminster-Canterbury of Winchester, Va., and formerly of Charles Town, W.Va., died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Westminster-Canterbury of Winchester. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The service will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.
