Here is the Morning MoJo Report for Wednesday, April 3: * As of 7 a.m., traffic was sluggish on I-270 southbound and I-495 in both directions, but was running fine on all the other interstates throughout the area, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation's interactive mapping page on its website. * The MARC Train, Light Rail, commuter buses, metro bus service and mobility service were all running on time and operating on their regular schedules, according to the Maryland Transit Administration's website at http://mta.maryland.gov . * The second floor of the MARC BWI Parking garage will be closed through April 6, according to the MTA website.

Thefts, burglaries reported in Hagerstown The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following incidents, according to spokeswoman Barbara Pickett: On Thursday: o At 8:30 a.m., a theft was reported in the 500 block of North Mulberry Street. Flower boxes were stolen. o At 6:53 p.m., a theft was reported in the 600 block of Washington Street. Two ladders and vehicle rims were stolen. On Wednesday: o At 4:08 p.m., a burglary was reported in the 600 block of Virginia Avenue.

HAGERSTOWN -- The City of Hagerstown barricaded a small stretch of sidewalk on Wednesday to protect pedestrians from what an official called a potentially unsafe structure at 138 W. Washington St. John Lestitian, chief code compliance inspector for the City of Hagerstown, said the barricade was set up to prevent broken windows from falling on someone. The city also is concerned about an adjoining parking deck to the rear of the main structure that shows signs of aging concrete, he said.

The City of Hagerstown held a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for Catania USA on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the store at 94 W. Washington St. in Hagerstown. Catania USA provides kitchen cabinetry, Catania granite countertops, bathroom vanities, carved moldings for crown moldings and chair rails, hardwood and laminate flooring, as well as marble floor medallions to customize the look of any room. Owner Simin Azadi and his team including Wolfgang Azadi, director of operations, and Ben Johnston, director of sales and marketing, make up United Kitchen Cabinets, a division of Catania USA. The store also features local artwork for sale provided by the Washington County Arts Council.

"The former owner didn't want to upset the ladies living upstairs, so I didn't even get to look it over," she said. "The deal was to allow the ladies to rent the apartments upstairs for as long as they wanted, which I did. " A bar, restaurant, inn and art gallery on North Washington Street, Tari's Caf opened in April 1989.

The unit block of West Washington Street in Hagerstown has been closed to traffic while workers fix the heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit on the roof of the Washington County office building, officials said. A Washington County Emergency Services dispatcher said the road probably would be closed until at least 1:15 p.m.

A Washington County man lost consciousness Saturday while driving on East Washington Street in Hagerstown and struck a parked car, a lamp post, parking meters and a tree, police said. Hagerstown Police Officer Langley Dean said the driver was traveling in the first block of East Washington Street when the Toyota he was driving jumped the curb and struck an unoccupied parked car. The parked car was pushed into the road as the Toyota continued on the sidewalk, taking out a lamp post and several parking meters before striking a tree head-on and coming to rest, he said.

One person was taken to Meritus Medical Center with minor injuries after a two-car collision at a downtown Hagerstown intersection Sunday afternoon, Hagerstown police said. A witness told police that a tan Nissan Altima traveling on South Mulberry Street allegedly ran a red light and hit a black Toyota Corolla broadside on East Washington Street, Hagerstown Police Department Officer D.E. Marshall said. After the impact, the Corolla careened onto the sidewalk at 201 E. Washington St. and hit a light pole, which was lying in the road by the time emergency responders arrived.

A Hagerstown man was being held Friday night in the Washington County Detention Center after he was charged Thursday with first-degree burglary and other crimes. Police allege in charging documents that Wilvon Eric Raleigh, 22, of 241 N. Locust St., on Wednesday forced his way into the rear basement of a home in the 400 block of East Washington Street. Three armed men broke into the home, police said. Police alleged that Raleigh, also known as FB, held a semiautomatic handgun to the temple of the victim in this case.

One person was taken to the hospital after four vehicles, including an armored truck, collided Thursday afternoon in a chain-reaction crash in downtown Hagerstown, city police said. The armored truck from Dunbar Armored collided with the back of a van, which caused two more cars to crash on West Washington Street at West Antietam Street, according to Officer C.P. Johnson of the Hagerstown Police Department. Police arrived on the scene at 12:25 p.m. and shut down West Washington Street at the intersection.
