WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The Waynesboro Borough Council, at a special meeting Thursday, clarified its goals for South Mulberry Avenue now that it has turned it into a pedestrian walkway. The north end of the thoroughfare's first block will be outfitted with a mountable curb so emergency vehicles still are able to use the road, Councilman Craig Newcomer said. The south end likely will have a single pole that can be removed by firefighters, he said. On Aug. 10, a contractor will replace the pavement on both North and South Mulberry avenues with bricks, Borough Manager Lloyd Hamberger said.
