A two-day trial has been scheduled in the case of a woman charged with vehicular homicide in the July 2010 crash that killed a Waynesboro, Pa., teenager. Franklin County (Pa.) Court of Common Pleas Judge Richard Walsh scheduled Aug. 9 and 10 as trial dates for Mary E. Bonebrake after an evidentiary hearing Monday afternoon. Bonebrake, 54, of Mont Alto, Pa., is charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, homicide by vehicle, DUI and three summary offenses.

A man charged with vehicular homicide in a Nov. 16, 2011, crash pleaded not guilty this week in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, according to online court records and the Franklin County Public Defender's Office. Marlin L. Brown, 27, is charged with homicide by vehicle, speeding, careless driving, disregarding his traffic lane and reckless driving. Chambersburg resident Derek A. Gonder died at York (Pa.) Hospital of injuries suffered in the Greencastle, Pa., crash.

A Mississippi man charged with vehicular homicide in a March 17 crash that killed a Waynesboro, Pa., woman now faces an additional criminal charge. As part of David Michael Szumigala's scheduled preliminary hearing Tuesday, the Franklin County (Pa.) District Attorney's Office filed one count of third-degree murder against him. Szumigala, 20, of Ocean Springs, Miss., waived his preliminary hearing in Franklin County (Pa.) Court. His arraignment has been scheduled for July 13. Szumigala already was charged with 18 criminal counts, including homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter, after the crash in which Judithann "Judy" Clement died.

A Mississippi man charged in a March 17 vehicle crash that killed a Waynesboro, Pa., woman waived his arraignment Wednesday in the Franklin County (Pa.) Court of Common Pleas. David Michael Szumigala, 21, is charged with third-degree murder, vehicular homicide and 17 other counts. He has been held without bail since the accident in which 45-year-old Judithann "Judy" Clement died. The collision occurred near the intersection of Pa. 16 and Grant Street in the Borough of Waynesboro.

Agustin Macias-Marquez will wait another few weeks before a preliminary hearing on two counts of vehicular homicide. The Waynesboro, Pa., man is accused of causing a Dec. 31 vehicle crash that claimed two lives. Macias-Marquez, 27, is charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle, two counts of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and other charges, including driving under the influence. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, but was continued until Feb. 12, court officials said.

FREDERICK, Md. - A man died and a Germantown, Md., woman was listed in stable condition Wednesday night at the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore following a car accident Tuesday night near the ramp on Interstate 70 and Md. 355 in Frederick, according to a press release from Maryland State Police. Leonard Edward Cave, 52, and Carolyn Gipe, 45, were in a Toyota van when it was struck by a Dodge truck, police said. Cave, of Jefferson, Md., was pronounced dead at the scene. Gipe was taken by police helicopter to Baltimore.

A woman charged with vehicular homicide in the July 2010 crash that killed a teenage girl entered not guilty pleas and waived her arraignment scheduled for Wednesday afternoon in Franklin County (Pa.) Court, doing both by mail. Mary Ellen Bonebrake, 53, of Mont Alto, Pa., is charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and reckless driving.

Shawn Tyler Lacasse, 27, appeared before Franklin County (Pa.) Court of Common Pleas Judge Richard Walsh on Monday for a status conference. Lacasse has been charged with homicide by vehicle, racing on highways and speeding related to a Feb. 12, 2011, crash that killed two people - one of whom was Amy Hummer, his 25-year-old fiancée.

Angalena K. Robinson was the kind of teenager who made her parents proud. The 16-year-old split her time between cheerleading and volunteering with homeless animals and youths with special needs. She was a favorite among customers at the McDonald's where she worked, and she helped a girl being bullied on the school bus. “She was very giving, very friendly and never shy,” said her father, Dwayne Robinson. The girl knew how to speak her mind, he said. “She was so full of life,” said her mother, Tammy Lushbaugh.

In court documents charging a Waynesboro man with two counts of vehicular homicide, Washington Township, Pa., police say he was involved in a 110-mph race up Pa. 16 to Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. Shawn Tyler Lacasse, 26, of 861 Anthony Ave., was charged Sept. 28 with homicide by vehicle, racing on highways and speeding related to a Feb. 12 crash that killed two people - one of whom was his 25-year-old fianceé. A preliminary hearing in Franklin County (Pa.) Central Court is scheduled for Dec. 6. Detective Mike McGovern writes in an affidavit of probable cause that he interviewed a woman who witnessed the 1 p.m. crash.

The trial for a man charged with killing a man with his pickup truck in a Franklin County bar parking lot got under way Tuesday. A jury of six men and six women was selected to hear the case of Dennis Buterbaugh, 42, who is charged in the death of 32-year-old Dale Steven Henry. Buterbaugh of Hustontown, Pa., is accused of hitting Henry with his pickup truck outside a Metal Township, Pa., bar last Memorial Day. Lawyers on both sides gave their opening statements before lunch in Franklin County Court before Judge Richard J. Walsh.

Tuesday morning is the scheduled start for the trial of a Fulton County, Pa., man charged with criminal homicide in the Memorial Day 2010 death of a man hit by a vehicle outside a Metal Township, Pa., bar. Gerald T. Buterbaugh, 42, of Hustontown, Pa., is accused of hitting 32-year-old Dale Steven Henry with his pickup truck after an argument May 31, 2010. Henry, of Burnt Cabins, Pa., was flown to Altoona (Pa.) Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced brain dead. According to online court documents, the jury trial has been scheduled for six to seven days before Judge Richard J. Walsh.
