Do you love scary movies? Do you like science fiction that makes you think? If you do, then this movie is perfect for you. "I Am Legend" is an adaptation of Richard Matheson's acclaimed 1954 vampire novel. The story is about Dr. Robert Neville, the last man living in New York City after a worldwide outbreak of a virus even the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would fear. The movie is astounding, with traditional horror movie tricks and scenes that make even the most stoic person jump.

"Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer Is quite possibly one of the best books I have ever read. The author's use of detail and suspense make for a shocking, action-packed novel that I could not put down. In the book, Bella, the main character and narrator, has recently moved to dreary Forks, Wash., from sunny, pleasant Phoenix, Ariz. When she meets dark, alluring Edward Cullen, she cannot stop thinking about him, and eventually finds out he feels the same way about her. After finding out Edward's horrific secret, Bella must choose between what she longs for and what is best for her - love or life.

Review In "New Moon" by Stephenie Meyer, Bella Swan has a normal life in the small town where she lives with her father. Except for one thing: She's dating a vampire. Edward Cullen is the love of Bella's life, and possibly her afterlife as well. They've had their problems in the past - evil vampires trying to kill Bella, Edward acting like she was an alien the first time they met - but they worked through these things. Now there is an even bigger threat: the possible end of their relationship.

Tuesday, May 20 8 p.m. on the WB "Gilmore Girls" It should be interesting to see what Rory (Alexis Bledel) makes of her experience at Yale next season, but first there's that little matter of the speech she must make as valedictorian in tonight's season finale. (During the summer, it's off to Europe, but we probably won't get to see that.) 8 p.m. on UPN "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" When Sarah Michelle Gellar stepped into the movie-spinoff role of Buffy back in 1997, the show hardly was expected to last this long - or to be ranked at times among television's best.

BOONSBORO -- When it comes to vampires, Charlaine Harris doesn't see them as evil, cloak-wearing characters from a Bram Stoker novel. Instead, she likes to think of them as people living alternative lifestyles. They're outrageous, audacious, steamy and funny. And they love to have a bloody good time. Harris will be the first to admit she's no expert on vampires. But she does know how to write a series of books that people can sink their teeth into. And her fans will have a chance to meet her at the Washington Romance Writers' mega book signing event 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Turn the Page Bookstore Cafe in Boonsboro.
