Cause of shed fire remains unknown The cause of a Monday morning blaze that destroyed a shed containing $6,000 worth of livestock and machinery remains undetermined, according to State Fire Marshal Robert Hahn. The fire at 1003 Sharpsburg Pike was called in at 6:49 a.m. When firefighters from Fairplay and Funkstown arrived, the 20x30-foot shed was engulfed in flames. The structure was owned by Earl Grove, said Hahn. Terry Gossard, who was in the shed at the time of the fire, received second-degree burns on his right hand while trying to put out the fire.
