Permanent seating at City Park band shell discussed The city of Hagerstown is considering installing permanent seating at the Peter Buys Band Shell at City Park. City Engineer Rodney Tissue presented initial plans Tuesday to the Hagerstown City Council, saying a permanent seating option at the band shell would be a nice addition to the park. “Basically, they would be a series of concrete bands with wooden benches sitting on top of them,” he said. “This would hold maybe 200 patrons of the band shell.” The green wooden benches there now have the capacity for about 300 to 400 people, Tissue said.

Idegwu collected some garbage on Monday as he stood on the doorstep of the goal and popped in a ricochet off Thomas Johnson goalkeeper Quinn Jenkins in the 70th minute to lift the Hubs to a 2-1 victory at Mike Callas Stadium. It capped a game featuring only concentrated action, as both teams had problems delivering shots for the first 60 minutes.

A set of yellow, blue or neon green flippers occasionally appeared Sunday morning beyond the rope line bordering the swimming area at Greenbrier Lake. Then the flippers disappeared and scuba divers' heads bobbed to the surface. For at least 10 years, divers from the Tri-State area have volunteered to pick up trash in the lake at Greenbrier State Park, said David Stealey, who helps organize the annual cleanup. Stealey and his wife, Mary, own Blue Marble Divers in the South Pointe Shopping Center in Hagerstown.
