Here's a fun idea to add your own style to your shoes. For this project you will need: o Canvas shoes o A few Sharpies or something else to customize with ( I used Sharpies, but you can just as easily use paint) o Some paper towels or something to set your shoes on  First, take your canvas shoes and set them on paper towels to keep your floor or table from getting messy. Next, jot down on a piece of paper some ideas of what you would want to draw or paint on your shoes.

Serafini coordinates House joke Two weeks ago, a lawmaker in Maryland's House of Delegates asked fellow House members to hold hands during the presession prayer. Del. Andrew A. Serafini, R-Washington, asked House members to participate in a different kind of tradition Thursday. "In that same spirit, we have a tradition in my church that's over 2,000 years old," he said. "It's called feet washing. " Then, General Assembly pages came forward holding towels. However, the exercise was a joke, and lawmakers did not wash each others' feet.

Lice treating tips The Berkeley County Health Department offers the following suggestions for treating head lice: Treat the entire family when a child comes home with lice. After using a lice-killing shampoo, such as Kwell or A-200 Pyrinalte, use a comb to remove any eggs remaining in the hair. Wash clothing, bed sheets and towels in hot water, expose to a hot iron or tumble in a clothes dryer for at least one minute. Spray upholstered furniture, mattresses and car seats with an insecticide.

Several high school students from Broadfording Christian Academy spent their spring break in March ministering in La Carpio, a barrio of San Jose, Costa Rica. The group participated in the "Abraham Project," which included the building and repairing of a facility that housed orphans. The group of BCA students donated bags of toys, sheets, towels and craft items for the children. They also hosted a Vacation Bible school and presented the gospel message through the wordless Bible.

HAGERSTOWN --Â REACH, which provides shelter for the homeless during the cold-weather months, needs supplies for its summer program. The summer shower and laundry program for the homeless is in desperate need of supplies, according to Jodie Stock, executive director of REACH. REACH, which stands for Religious Effort to Assist and Care for the Homeless, is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for those services, Stock said. No appointments are necessary, although participants must be homeless, she said.

HAGERSTOWN -- National Golden Tissue, a manufacturer of processed paper products, recently opened its first factory in Hagerstown and intends to employ as many as 500 people within the next five years, a company official said Wednesday. Soheil Shahrooz, vice president of business development for National Golden Tissue, said the company primarily manufactures facial tissue, toilet paper, luncheon napkins and paper towels for use in restaurants, hotels and offices. The business employs about 20 people, but more workers will be needed as things get busier, Shahrooz said.
