Tomato Soup

School menus for the week of Monday, April 9, through Friday, April 13: Washington County Monday - No school Tuesday - Hot dog on bun or grilled BBQ chicken patty on bun, baked beans, coleslaw and applesauce. Secondary also may choose tomato soup. Wednesday - Shrimp poppers or steak-and-cheese sub, macaroni and cheese, peas and pears. Secondary also may choose thick vegetable soup. Thursday - Soft or crunchy tacos with salsa or tuna salad sandwich, corn, frozen juice pop and assorted fresh fruit.

Aug. 16 - Aug. 22 The Washington County Commission on Aging offers noon lunches to anyone 60 years and older at seven locations - Hancock, Smithsburg, Keedysville, Williamsport and three in Hagerstown. A two-day reservation notice is required and a donation is asked per meal. For information, call 301-790-0275. Weekly menu Wednesday - Baked macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, pineapple, fruit smoothie, sweet trail muffin and milk. Thursday - Steamer, bean soup with diced carrots, potato wedges, spinach salad with egg wedge, plum and milk.
