Stratum

Nine pairs competed Friday, April 9, at the Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club. Anne Carden and David Abuhove finished first in the A stratum with a 60.65 percent game. Dick and Lois Taylor come in second in A with 57.64 percent, and Barbara Couch and Frank Carden were third in A with 54.40 percent. Alan Brown and Barbara Burkhardt place fourth in A and first in both B and C with 50.46 percent, and Debbie and Scott Kiser were second in B with 50.00 percent. The Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club meets at 7 p.m. every Friday at the American Legion on Northern Avenue, Hagerstown.

Nine pairs competed Friday, Dec. 23, in an American Contract Bridge League membership game during a meeting of the Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club.   Dick and Lois Taylor finished first in the A stratum with a 67.36-percent game. Bruce and Aurora McDonough were second in Flight A and first in Flight B with 59.03 percent, and Barbara Beard and Bea Van Norden were third in Flight A, second in Flight B, and first in Flight C with 52.78 percent. Anne Carden and David Abuhove came in fourth in Flight A with 50.69 percent.

Eight pairs competed Friday, April 5, during a meeting of the Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club.  Dennis Wick and John Nimitz tied with Carl Herrick and Ron Clawson for first place in the A stratum with a 55.95-percent game. David Abuhove and Bea Van Norden placed third in Flight A, and Frank and Anne Carden came in third in Flight B with 52.38 percent. Bob and Sue Munger were second in Flight C with 51.19 percent.  The Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club meets at 7 p.m. Fridays at American Legion Post 42 on Northern Avenue in Hagerstown.

Twenty-five pairs competed Wednesday, July 21, during a meeting of the Hagerstown Duplicate Bridge Club. In the North/South direction: Elaine Rowe and Fred Wagner were first in the A stratum, Denise Clow and Barbara Ward were second, and Frank and Anne Carden took third. Mary Wolfinger and Pat Mesner were fourth in A and first in B, and Claudia Reppert and Debbie Kiser were fifth in A, second in B and first in C. Barbara Burkhardt and George Laniado came in third in B, and Willa Garner and Ralph Maier finished fourth in B. In the East/West direction: Dick and Lois Taylor finished first in both the A and B strata, while Richard Evans and Jim Eaton placed second in A. Stephanie and John Dorr were third in A; Chuck Lesher and Thomas Turner were fourth in A; and Emma Eaton and Carl Herrick took fifth in A. Bill and Madeline Davis placed second in B, and Eddie Conner and Bob Back came in third in B. Herb and Michael Behre finished first in C. The club meets at 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays at South End Fire Hall in Hagerstown.
