The West Virginia Power scored one run in the first inning and another in the 10th to beat the Hagerstown Suns 2-1 on Saturday night before a crowd of 5,623 at Municipal Stadium. Starling Marte scored the winning run for West Virginia with one out in the top of the 10th. He singled, stole second and scored on a fielding error by Suns shortstop Steven Souza. Hagerstown tied the game at 1-1 in the sixth. Nick Arata and Chris Curran led off with back-to-back singles. After a sacrifice bunt by Robert Jacobsen put two in scoring position, Steve Lombardozzi hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Jeremy Synan hit two home runs and drove in four as the Greensboro Grasshoppers beat the Hagerstown Suns 8-1 on Wednesday, ending the Suns' modest two-game winning streak. The Suns scored their only run in the top of the third on consecutive singles by Steve Lombardozzi, Derek Norris and Tyler Moore. Synan's first two-run homer highlighted a five-run third for Greensboro. His second two-run shot gave the Grasshoppers a 7-1 lead in the fifth. Ben Lasater added an RBI double in the seventh for Greensboro.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Tyler Moore singled to drive in Steve Lombardozzi in the seventh inning on Wednesday to lift the Hagerstown Suns to a 5-3 win over the Greensboro Grasshooppers. The win moves Hagerstown (15-15) to .500 on the season. Lombardozzi doubled and scored on Moore's two-out hit to break a 3-3 tie. Kevin Light (1-1) got the win in relief of starter Brad Peacock. Greensboro scored three runs in the second, highlighted by Justin Jacobs' two-run homer. The Suns tied the score with two runs in the third on sacrifice flies by Moore and Aaron Seuss and a run in the fourth on a Lombardozzi grounder.

HICKORY, N.C. -- For the second night in a row, the Hagerstown Suns hit four homers and scored double-digit runs as they beat the Hickory Crawdads 12-7 on Tuesday. The Suns blanked Hickory 10-0 on Monday. Derek Norris hit a pair of two-run homers for the Suns on Tuesday, giving him a league-high 20 homers on the season. Robby Jacobsen and Charlie Fermaint also homered for Hagerstown. Steve Lombardozzi and Valerio Heredia each had three of the Suns' 15 hits. Lombardozzi had a triple, two doubles and two RBIs.

LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- The Hagerstown Suns erased a three-run deficit with a four-run third inning and went on to defeat the Lakewood BlueClaws 5-3 on Monday in the South Atlantic League. Lakewood took a 1-0 lead in the first when Harold Garcia singled and came around to score on Jim Murphy's sacrifice fly. The BlueClaws made it 3-0 in the second on Anthony Gose's two-run double. The Suns stormed back in the third. James Keithley doubled with one out, Chris Curran walked and Valerio Heredia was hit by a pitch to load the bases.

EASTLAKE, Ohio -- Mark Thompson and Chris Nash homered to lead the Lake County Captains to a 5-2 win Tuesday and a two-game sweep of the Hagerstown Suns. Paul Demny took the loss for the Suns, dropping his record to 1-6 on the year. The Suns (29-32) started strong, scoring twice in the top of the first off Lake County starter Trey Haley. Jose Lozada led off the game with a walk, advanced to second on a single by Steve Lombardozzi and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Moore.

After five straight games scoring first but to go on and lose, the Hagerstown Suns turned the tide on Sunday to snap a seven-game losing streak. The Augusta GreenJackets scored first for a 1-0 lead but the Suns came back to post a 4-1 win on Sunday at Municipal Stadium to finish off a poor homestand. Tied 1-all in the seventh, Hagerstown broke loose for three runs against Augusta reliever Eric Stolp. Nick Arata had an infield single for his third hit of the game, went to second on a passed ball, reached third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a sacrifice fly by Chris Curran for a 2-1 lead.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- The Hagerstown Suns did everything right Friday night, mashing 11 hits and getting superb pitching while taking advantage of four Bowling Green errors on the way to an 8-0 victory over the Hod Rods in a South Atlantic League game. The Suns took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Steve Lombardozzi singled and scored on Derek Norris' 24th double of the season. Hagerstown made it 2-0 in the third on Norris' 22nd home run of the year. The Suns added another run in the fourth on Charlie Fermaint's single, a fielding error and a wild pitch that allowed Fermaint to score from third.

The Hagerstown Suns beat Lake County 3-1 on Saturday night at Municipal Stadium for a doubleheader split with Captains. Lake County began the day with a 5-1 victory in the completion of Wednesday's game, which suspended due to rain in the bottom of the fourth inning. The scored was tied at 1. In the seven-inning nightcap, the Suns scored two runs in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead. Steven Souza reached second on a throwing error by pitcher T.J. House (1-6) and scored on a single by Charlie Fermaint to tie the game at 1. Sandy Leon followed with an RBI double to left.

Stephen Strasburg pitched a four-hitter and struck out 10 in the first complete game of his career, Jayson Werth had his second straight three-hit game and the Washington Nationals completed a three-game sweep with a 6-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday night. Strasburg (6-9) dominated the reeling Phillies for his first win since July 7 against San Diego. The Nationals had lost five straight games started by the right-hander. The Phillies never had a runner in scoring position during their 11th straight road loss.

LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- Lakewood won the fifth-inning battle with Hagerstown on Wednesday night as the BlueClaws beat the Suns 3-2 in the first game of the three-game series. After Hagerstown (16-33 second half) scored two runs in the top of the fifth, Lakewood (25-24) answered with three in the bottom half off Suns reliever Patrick Arnold (3-3). With two outs and a runner on third, Travis d'Arnaud hit an RBI double and Jim Murphy followed with an RBI triple to tie the game at 2. Jeremy Hamilton then doubled to plate Murphy for what proved to be the winning run. The Suns took a 2-0 lead against Lakewood starter Jesus Sanchez (9-6)
