Man raped stepdaughter, 15 A 39-year-old Hagerstown man was sentenced to 40 years in prison Thursday for the second-degree rape of his 15-year-old stepdaughter - an encounter that produced a child. continued "The flesh is weak and I was weak," the man said after admitting on the witness stand that he had what he called "an adulterous affair" with his stepdaughter in the spring of 1999. But he told the jury it wasn't forced. And he insisted she was partially to blame for wearing tight shorts and low-cut T-shirts around the house.

Man gets 5 years for fondling stepdaughter A Clear Spring man who admitted fondling his stepdaughter three or four times a week for seven to nine years was sentenced last week to five years in prison. Judge Donald Beachley imposed a 10-year prison term on Nov. 30, but suspended all but five years, according to court records. The 36-year-old man, whose name is being withheld to protect his stepdaughter's identity, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual child abuse in July, according to court records.

A 38-year-old Hagerstown man has been jailed on $40,000 bond, charged with impregnating his 15-year-old stepdaughter in a forced sexual encounter last winter. The man, whose name is being withheld to protect his stepdaughter's identity, is charged with child abuse, two second-degree sex offenses, one count of second-degree assault and contributing to the condition of a child. Washington County Sheriff's Department Investigator Kenny Barnhart said he was called to South Hagerstown High School Monday after the girl made the allegations to a school employee and the Department of Social Services sent a caseworker.

A 43-year-old Hagerstown man who admitted fondling his stepdaughter on at least two occasions last year was given probation before judgment Monday in Washington County Circuit Court. The victim, now 16, has run away from home and was unavailable to testify, according to court records. In exchange for the plea to one count of fourth-degree sex offense, additional charges of child abuse and second-degree assault against the man were dropped, court records said. The man's name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Meghan Harper, a nursing student at Hagerstown Community College, received a $500 scholarship from the Hancock Rotary Foundation at the Sept. 26 Rotary meeting. The one-time scholarship was given in celebration of HCCs 60th anniversary. Harper, a graduate of Heritage Academy, is the daughter of Lisa Chaney and stepdaughter of Mike Chaney of Warfordsburg, Pa.

A Hagerstown man charged with throwing his stepdaughter’s dog in front of a car and threatening to harm her was released Sunday from the Washington County Detention Center after posting a $75,000 bond, according to Washington County District Court records. Tammam Mocram Al-Barazi, 59, of 15 E. Lee St., was charged by Hagerstown police with second-degree assault, two counts of animal cruelty, mutilating an animal and malicious destruction of property after the dog was killed June 30, court records show.

DEC. 31, 1933-JUNE 28, 2010 CLEAR SPRING - Brinton Donald Keeseman, 76, of 14009 Mercersburg Road, Clear Spring, Md., died Monday, June 28, 2010, at his home. Born Dec. 31, 1933, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Cleveland and Margaret Myers Keeseman. He graduated from Shippensburg High School with the class of 1952. Brinton had the West End Market in Hagerstown in the 1970s and 1980s. He and his wife owned Smithsburg Market and operated it in the 1980s until 1995.

Born Feb. 20, 1933, in Pennersville, Pa., he was the son of the late Herman E. and Esther Stottlemyer Tresler. He worked at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, for more than 42 years, primarily as a tank jockey, retiring in August 1993. He was a member of Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. He was a member of Wellsville (Pa.)

Born Sept. 30, 1966, in Grafton, W.Va., she was the daughter of Richard "Dick" Delauder and stepdaughter of Barbara Delauder, and daughter of Sharon Loretta Droneburg Heller and stepdaughter of Frederick Heller. She will be dearly missed by many friends and family. She was a fun-loving, free-spirited strong woman. Karen loved to ride four-wheelers, camping and spending time with her family and friends.

Born May 2, 1936, in Waynesboro, Va., he was the son of the late Leon Martin Grimm and Anna Margaret Gum Grimm. He was a graduate of the Hagerstown High School. He was the owner and operator of the K.L. Grimm Trucking Company for over 40 years and was a dairy farmer for many years. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Bell Grimm of Hagerstown; three sons, Kenneth L. Grimm Jr. and wife Ginger, Keith L. Grimm and wife Juanita, and Kevin L. Grimm, all of Hagerstown; two daughters, Krista O'Brien and husband David of Hedgesville, W.Va.

Marilyn (Klarman) Harshman, 52, of Big Pine Key, Fla., passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Fla. Marilyn was the daughter of the late Joel and Leah Klarman. She is survived by her loving husband, Chris Harshman of Big Pine Key; stepdaughter, Ashley O'Berry, and stepson, Michael Martin, both of Florida; five stepgrandchildren of Florida; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronnie and Joanne Harshman; brother-in-law, Russ Harshman; and niece, Amanda Harshman, all of Hagerstown.

Mr. Linton is survived by his wife, Margaret Linton; stepdaughter, Donna Whitmore and husband, Samuel, of Athens; stepdaughter, Nita McCormick and husband, Joseph, of Falling Waters, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by a stepson, Russell Penner; brothers, Wesley and Brooke Linton; sister, Edith Linton; and grandson, Cris Penner.

Born July 18, 1935, in Sevierville, Tenn., he was the son of the late Ralph J. and Mary D. Shrader Green. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by Montgomery County Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley A. Bart Green; three sisters, Neva Martin, Reva Woodall and Freda Breeden, all of Maryville, Tenn.
