Born April 15, 1944, in Harrisonville, he was the son of the late Joseph S. and Mary C. Stains Strait. He is survived by one brother, Clyde Strait of McConnellsburg, Pa.; one stepbrother, William D. McCoy of Williamson, Pa.; and one stepsister, Evelyn Shives of Orrstown, Pa. He was preceded in death by one stepbrother, Robert W. McCoy.

Born Feb. 2, 1930, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Decker Files and Clyde Files. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Raymond L. Michael; two sons, Dannie Ritenour and Clyde Ritenour; one stepson, Rick Michael; one stepdaughter, Cindy Lillard; one brother, Gene Files; one stepbrother, Nelson Schultz; one stepsister, Mildred Hawk; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one aunt; and nieces and nephews.

MAY 4, 1916-JULY 27, 2007 WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Stella V. Hendershot, 91, of Warfordsburg, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa. Born May 4, 1916, in Belfast Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alonza and Laura Sigel Barnhart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Hendershot, in 1984. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Lois L. Mellott of Warfordsburg; three sons, Paul A. Hendershot, Daryl L. Hendershot and Earl J. Hendershot, all of Warfordsburg; one stepbrother, Leroy Barnhart of Warfordsburg; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Roy Oran Poper III, 53, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center with his family by his side. Born Oct. 28, 1958, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Roy Oran Poper II and Ethel June Ridenour Poper of Hagerstown. He served in theU.S. Army. He retired from the Western Maryland Center. He was a former Little League coach and a board member at American Little League. He is survived by his wife, Susan Poper; daughter, Lindsey Poper, and son, Roy Poper IV, both of Hagerstown; two sisters, Marianne Rickett and Marcella Maphis, both of Hagerstown; two half-sisters, Kristi Sollenberger and Annie Poper, both of Hagerstown; a stepbrother, Michael Shank of Waynesboro, Pa.; two grandsons; and one granddaughter.

Deborah K. Gordon of Boonsboro, born May 15, 1960, passed away April 27, 2011. She was the daughter of Shirley Gordon and the late Dick Gordon. She will be remembered by her family, sisters Karen Kesecker, and Tina and husband Andrew Garza, and will be missed. She will also be missed by her dog, Max.    She also has two brothers, Richard and wife Diane Gordon, and Curt and wife Mary Gordon; stepbrother Dick and stepsister Mary Ruth Mulligan; and nieces and nephews, Kami and CJ Gordon, David Moore, Benjamin Garza, and Angela and Jody Sandy.

Born May 27, 1919, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Mabel V. (Barber) Schleigh. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Markwook Luther "Jack" Thurmond Sept. 20, 2012. She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School Class of 1937. She was employed by F.W. Woolworth of Hagerstown for 16 years and Miller Furniture Store of Hagerstown for four years.

Routzahn, 84 AUG. 19, 1924-MARCH 27, 2009 WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Charles Lare "Chick" Routzahn, 84, of Walkersville, died Friday, March 27, 2009, at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Walkersville. Born Aug. 19, 1924, in Walkersville, he was the son of the late Charles Sherman and Anna Lare Routzahn. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Carrie Irene Staley Routzahn, in 1989. He retired from Londontown Manufacturing Co. in Halfway, after 24 years of service.

Imogene R. “Jean” McBeth Ulery, 82, of Falling Waters, W.Va., formerly of Acme, Pa., died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Williamsport Nursing Home. She was born April 1, 1929, in Tarrs, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Beistel McBeth. She was a graduate of East Huntingdon Township High School, Class of 1947. Mrs. Ulery was a retired hairdresser, having retired from Charlene's Hair Gallery in Hagerstown, Md. She was a member of the Acme United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.
