CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Maryland woman was sentenced Wednesday in Franklin County Court to state prison for robbing a beauty supply store last year. Jennifer Horton, 37, of Westminster, was sentenced to 10 months to five years in prison. Judge Carol Van Horn ordered her to serve the sentence at the expiration of a sentence she is serving in Maryland. Horton pleaded guilty April 20 to the Feb. 5, 1999, holdup of Sally Beauty Supply, 251 Cedar St., according to court records. Chambersburg police records said she and Michael Clink, 28, of Manchester, Md., entered the business, said they were armed and got away with $768.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man who pleaded guilty to sexually molesting an 8-year-old boy was sentenced Wednesday in Franklin County Court to five to 20 years in state prison. David Lee Cooper, 19, of 2667 Cinder St., had pleaded guilty to rape on Oct. 13, according to court records. Pennsylvania State Police records said he had oral sex with the boy on at least three occasions between July 1998 and April 1999. Cooper's mother, Karen Reitz, asked Judge John R. Walker to allow her son to serve his sentence in Franklin County Prison.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A 20-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday in Franklin County Court to three to 10 years in state prison for having sex with a minor. Dale Wayne Phillips Jr., no fixed address, was sentenced on a charge of aggravated indecent assault by Judge John R. Walker. He pleaded guilty to the charge Feb. 20 in exchange for charges of statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and corruption of a minor being dismissed, court records said.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man was sentenced Monday in Franklin County Court to serve time in state prison after his second trial conviction on drug charges. Thailand V. Dickerson, 43, of 116 S. Second St., was convicted last week in a trial before Judge Carol Van Horn on a charge of possession with intent to deliver cocaine. Van Horn sentenced Dickerson to 33 months to 10 years. On Aug. 30, 2007, the Chambersburg Police Department used a confidential informant to purchase $100 worth of crack cocaine from Dickerson, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

chambersburg@herald-mail.com CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Willow Hill, Pa., man was sentenced in absentia to serve at least 39 months in state prison on alcohol- and assault-related charges when he failed to show up in court. Judge John Walker sentenced James Lynn Breon, 35, to a total of 39 months to 12 years in state prison in Franklin County Court Wednesday on five charges stemming from two separate incidents in 2001. He also issued a bench warrant for Breon, who did not show up for his sentencing hearing.

Man sentenced to prison for electronics theft By STACEY DANZUSO chbbureau@innernet.net A Chambersburg, Pa., man involved in the theft of thousands of dollars of electronics and audio equipment from several stores and vehicles earlier this year will serve at least one year in state prison. Peter Franklin already pleaded guilty in Franklin County Court to one count of theft and two counts of receiving stolen property and was sentenced to one to 12 years in jail on Wednesday.

CHAMBERSBURG, PA. - A Chambersburg woman whose convictions included stealing Christmas presents with her mother will spend two years in the State Intermediate Punishment program, including time in a state prison. Franklin County Judge John R. Walker on Wednesday signed an order placing Karen L. Beam, 51, in the program. In August, she had been found in violation of her parole and probation after new charges were filed against her during the summer, according to court documents.

A Baltimore man was sentenced to three years in state prison Monday by a Washington County Circuit judge after he pleaded guilty to pistol whipping a man outside a Downsville Pike apartment. Sherman Wells, 25, whose last known address was 2301 W. Lanvale St. in Baltimore, pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree assault and wearing and carrying a handgun in connection with the March 23 incident. Circuit Judge Donald E. Beachley sentenced Wells on the second-degree assault charge to serve seven years in state prison, but suspended all but three years of that sentence, giving him credit for time served, according to court documents.
