WILLIAMSPORT -- Tony's Pizza in Williamsport will donate sauce and noodles for a spaghetti dinner to raise money to restore the town's historic River View Cemetery, co-owner Jim Horn said. A date and location for the dinner have not been finalized, said Williamsport Mayor James G. McCleaf II, who met with Horn Saturday, and plans to meet with area churches to ask for help organizing and hosting the event. The restoration effort is a response to recent vandalism in the cemetery that left several dozen large tombstones overturned, but McCleaf said he hopes to raise enough to go beyond repairing the damage and fund a full rehabilitation of the cemetery.

Behind the scenes Behind the scenes -- that is where I found myself a week ago today when I got home. I had called my husband, the Rev. Allan Weatherholt, from the road asking him about supper plans and found him at St. Thomas' Church, helping the women serve spaghetti. He filled me in on the crisis going on at a local motel, a crisis that had brought almost 100 law enforcement officers, fire and rescue personnel, traffic control officials, State Highway workers and others to our little town.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The best singers in the world and the best dancers? Russ Clever says they're on television. The entertainers performing in Greencastle tonight through Saturday, though, are your brothers, fathers and neighbors, who just might tease you during the show. "It's different," Clever said. "I think the reason why this is the 73rd Minstrel Show and it goes on and on, it's certainly not because Greencastle has all the talent in 100 miles. ... I think our biggest asset is you can't turn on the TV and see an old-time minstrel show.

It was the first "hospi" run since the official opening of the Hagerstown Olive Garden and the "customers" were thrilled. The recipients of a free lunch - spaghetti, salad and breadsticks - were the students and staff at Hagerstown Day Nursery. Whether the children called it "sghettis" or pasta, they all gave it a thumbs up as they happily munched away. General manager Jason Rakaczewski, along with Culinary Manager Justin Tennant, both from the Hagerstown restaurant, helped serve the children, along with Ian Nason.

HAGERSTOWN - With a sauce-splattered knife laid across her plate, Samantha Ebersole spun spaghetti with her fork and spoon. Spaghetti covered the corners of some diners' mouths as they dug into heaping plates at a fundraiser Sunday, but for the 14-year-old from Williamsport, eating was a ballet of twist, spin and chomp. Samantha, her parents and a friend were among those who turned out on a gray, chilly day to enjoy Antietam Exchange Club's 34th annual Italian Festa at South Hagerstown High School.
