George St, Charles Town, W.Va., Ash2Ash Christian Music Ministry will be in concert today at 3 p.m. Michael's Chapel, W.Va. 9 east of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., The Master's Four will perform Southern gospel music in a concert Sunday at 7 p.m. Light Community Church (formerly Wanda's Furniture) at 7820 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas, Pa., The Bates Family Singers will perform Southern gospel music Sunday at 6 p.m. Refreshments will follow. First Baptist Church , 15 High St., Hagerstown, today's block party starts at noon with fun and Southern gospel music. Food served at 2 p.m. Wheaton Park, Outreach Ministries will hold Summer in the Park this Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Independent Bible Church , Martinsburg, W.Va., Teen Week is June 18-22 from 7 to 11 p.m., free and open to teens that have completed grades 7-12, food will be available each night at nominal cost. The week's indoor and outdoor activities will include new events every night, some of which follow a "Survivor" theme.

Heavenly Harmony to kick-off Pride Day photo: RIC DUGAN / staff photogapher The musical group Heavenly Harmony will perform at Maugansville Pride Day Saturday, Sept. 2. The group, which has been singing together for about five years, is based at First Christian Church in Hagerstown and performs primarily Christian music for a variety of events. It has sung at assisted-living centers and nursing homes, community festivals and occasional banquets, according to Robin Byers, an alto in the group.

-SEPT. 1, 2009 Edward N. Snook, 77, of Rockdale Road, Clear Spring, Md., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna I. Hamby Snook; two sons, Jeffrey L. Snook of Clear Spring and Chris L. Snook of Chambersburg, Pa.; one daughter, Linda A. Worthington of Clear Spring; five grandchildren, Julie A. Stewart, Jodie I. Burger, Karen A. Worthington, Brian E. Worthington and Alexis L. Snook; three great- grandchildren, Olivia Jones, Garrett Burger and Jaxon Stewart; two brothers, William Snook and Donald Snook; and one sister, Helen Doub.
