The following students are members of the Class of 2011 at Southern Fulton (Pa.) High School. Commencement was held Thursday night at the high school. The regularly scheduled meeting of the Southern Fulton School Board has been postponed a week, according to a news release from Anita Munson, the board secretary. The board was scheduled to meet Tuesday, but will meet March 26 instead, according to the release. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Southern Fulton High School library.

Coming into the game, Southern Fulton's coach Terry Bard told senior center Ashley Roman that this game was her's to dominate. And, dominate she did. Roman scorched Halifax for 24 points - including 12 in the third quarter - as the Indians declawed the Wildcats 73-34 in the second round of the Class A PIAA state tournament. “We knew we had an advantage (in the post),” Bard said. “Ashley had one heck of a game. I told her in practice that she can dominate if she wanted to. I guess she wanted to.” With the victory, Southern Fulton advances to the quarterfinals against Lourdes Regional on Saturday at a time and place yet to be determined.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011 GIRLS BASKETBALL Southern Fulton 52, Shade 32 BEDFORD, Pa. — Chelsie Eader had 19 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals to lead Southern Fulton to a PIAA District 5-A semifinal win over Shade. Lacey Beatty had 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals and Morgan Mills had six rebounds for the Indians (20-3). Southern Fulton will play Berlin in the championship game on Saturday at 6 at Pitt-Johnstown.

Saturday, March 16, 2013 GIRLS BASKETBALL ENOLA, Pa. - Ashley Roman had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead Southern Fulton to a 47-29 win over Our Lady of Lourdes Regional in the PIAA Class A quarterfinals Saturday at East Pennsboro High School. The Indians (26-3) will play District 11 champion Tri-Valley in the state semifinals Tuesday. Site and time are not yet set. Southern Fulton led 28-18 at halftime and made life difficult for Lourdes' three top scorers - Rachel Schultz, Nikki Komara and Sarah Getchey - with a 1-3-1 zone throughout the game.

Monday, January 30, 2012   GIRLS BASKETBALL NEW PARIS, Pa. - Macie Hollenshead had an all-around effective game leading Southern Fulton past Chestnut Ridge 53-30 on Monday in the Sideling Hill League. Hollenshead had 13 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists and seven steals to lead first-place Southern Fulton (16-1, 9-0). Ashley Roman added 12 points and Taelor Morten had 11 for the Indians. Saturday, December 29, 2012 GIRLS BASKETBALL HANCOCK - Southern Fulton won the Hancock Holiday Classic, defeating Clear Spring 76-32 on Saturday to remain unbeaten. Macey Hollenshead, named the tournament MVP, led Southern Fulton (8-0) with 18 points, 10 assists and seven steals. Ashley Roman had eight points and nine rebounds, Taelor Morton had 14 points and Kayla Chilcote scored 10. Morton and Chilcote were also on the all-tournament team. Morgan Kenworthy had two goals and an assist for the Gaels (11-6, 5-2) while Wyatt Derr had a goal and an assist, Graham Horst had a goal, Willie Spinnler had an assist and Mike Fairley had 10 saves in the victory.

Jenna Knable had tied the game with a sacrifice fly. Albert had three hits for Clear Spring (8-1) in the second game. Sarah Elwood had four hits and Sarah Blickenstaff had three hits for Clear Spring in the second game.

Friday, April 12, 2013 PREP SOFTBALL Williamsport 10, Boonsboro 9 WILLIAMSPORT - Williamsport needed nine innings to get its first win of the season Friday against Boonsboro in an MVAL Antietam game. Kate Wade earned the win on the mound for Williamsport (1-7, 1-5).  Tristen Hartle hit two three-run homers for Boonsboro (0-7, 0-5) and Natelie Tobrey added a two-run shot, but the Warriors committed nine errors. Southern Fulton 14, Meyersdale 1 MEYERSDALE, Pa. - Southern Fulton was got a complete game from starter Marley Elbin and rolled to a win over Meyersdale.

Southern Fulton eighth-grader Olivia Mottern recently was named the Knights of Columbus Pennsylvania State Foul Shooting U13 champion at Trinity High School near Camp Hill, Pa.  Mottern competed in the local- and district-level foul shooting competition at Chestnut Ridge High School, the regional level in Gettysburg, Pa., and then the state competition.  To advance through the program, participants must shoot consecutive foul shots, with...

Saturday, February 23, 2013 BOYS BASKETBALL WASHINGTON  - Saint James could not make it three wins in one season over Sidwell Friends, losing to the Quakers 71-55 in the semifinals of the Mid-Atlantic Conference tournament on Saturday. The Saints (13-14) owned a pair of regular-season wins over Sidwell (21-7), but the Quakers caught fire in the second half Saturday and spent plenty of time at the foul line - making 21 of 40 free throws to Saint James' 11 of 17. Nnamdi Enechionyia led the Saints with 17 points and nine rebounds.
