WASHINGTON COUNTY ? The annual public forum with the Washington County delegation to the Maryland General Assembly will be held Jan. 5. Members of the delegation will be at South Hagerstown High School from 10 a.m. to noon to hear comments and concerns from the public. The delegation holds the meeting each year just before the General Assembly holds its regular session. This year's legislative session begins Jan. 9. If there is bad weather Jan. 5, the forum will be canceled and won't be rescheduled.

Wednesday from 6 to 8, Wendy's and the Williamsport Blue Band Boosters invite everyone to Blue Band Night at the 1570 Wesel Blvd. restaurant. The Blue Band recently purchased new uniforms, and all money raised will be used to help pay them off. With this newspaper article, Wendy's will give the new uniform fund a portion of the bill. The Williamsport Blue Band placed first in the Oct. 4 tournament of bands at South Hagerstown High School, scoring 78.45 out of 100 points.

Washington County delegation to the Maryland General Assembly will hold its annual public meeting from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 13, at South Hagerstown High School's auditorium, 1101 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The 2009 General Assembly begins in mid-January. As the session approaches, Washington County's state senators and delegates invite constituents to talk about issues on their minds. If there is inclement weather, the meeting will be canceled and won't be rescheduled.

The bridegroom is the son of Nevin and Clara Frey of Hagerstown. He is a graduate of Williamsport High School. He is employed at Conservit Inc. They live in Hagerstown.

Phil and Jean Thompson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 14, 2009, with a family dinner at Dutch's Daughter in Frederick, Md. The Thompsons were married at Washington Square United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, by the Rev. LeFew. Mrs. Thompson is the former Gloria Jean Myers, a 1958 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. Mr. Thompson graduated in 1953 from Hagerstown High School and was employed by The Danzer Metal Works Company for more than 40 years, retiring in 2001.

The bride is the daughter of Jon and Camille Hendrickson of Hagerstown. The bridegroom is the son of the late Albert and Catherine Hart of Clear Spring. The bride is a graduate of South Hagerstown High School and a graduate of Mountain State University. She is employed as an agricultural marketing specialist for Washington County.

Army Pvt. Casey L. Thomas , the grandson of Madeline Mazingo and nephew of Kimberly Haines, both of Hagerstown, graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Thomas is a 2008 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. Marine Corps Pvt. Martin S. Caicedo-Simpson , a 2012 graduate of Martinsburg (W.Va.) High School, earned the title of U.S. Marine after graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.
