The bride is the daughter of Donald and Paula Stoner of Mercersburg. The bridegroom is the son of Richard and Helen Hoffeditz of Mercersburg. The bride is a 1993 graduate of James Buchanan High School, a 1997 graduate of Shippensburg University and is attending graduate school at Shippensburg University. She is employed as a third grade teacher with Southern Fulton School District.

The Washington County Board of Education will present the 35th annual Showcase of Marching Bands Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. at School Stadium at South Hagerstown High School. The following bands will be featured: Clear Spring High School Blazer Band (host band) Boonsboro High School Warrior Band Hancock High School Panther Band North Hagerstown High School Hub Band Smithsburg High School Leopard Band South Hagerstown High School Rebel Band Williamsport High School Blue Band Tickets cost $4 in advance or $5 at the gate.

The Washington County delegation to the Maryland General Assembly is holding its annual public meeting Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at South Hagerstown High School's auditorium. As the 2009 General Assembly session approaches, people are invited to talk about issues that are on their minds. If the weather is bad that day, the public meeting will be canceled and won't be rescheduled.

Thomas Andrew Port, son of Scott and Melanie Port of Hagerstown, graduated from South Hagerstown High School on July 31, after only three years of high school. After completing his junior year, Thomas enrolled in summer school and successfully completed his 12th-grade English requirement, earning his diploma a year early. Thomas is working full time to save money and plans to attend college in January.

The Public Service Commission of Maryland will host a series of meetings, including one in Hagerstown, to gather public comment on Allegheny Power's proposed plan for billing customers when an electric generation cap is lifted in 2008. The meeting in Hagerstown will be Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. at South Hagerstown High School. The cap will expire Dec. 31, 2008.

She is an avid reader with a preference for fantasy, though no book is unappealing.

She is a graduate of South Hagerstown High School and Career Studies Center. She is employed by Scott's Lawn Service. The bridegroom is the son of the late Earl and Sarah Bryan and is a graduate of North Hagerstown High School. He is employed by Certainteed. They live in Hagerstown.
