Cops looking for man in connection with robbery Hagerstown City Police have an arrest warrant for Jason Stalbyn Bell, also known as Nova, in connection with a March 7 armed robbery in the stairwell of 58 E. Antietam St. Criminal charges include armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, theft, and two handgun offenses. Bell, 19, is described as a black man, with black hair and brown eyes. His last known address was 24 Madison Ave. Bell's whereabouts are unknown and police are asking for help from the community in locating him. Prosecutors spent the first day of Pov Srun's trial in Franklin County Court trying to link two rapes committed in Pennsylvania with two similar crimes for which the former Hagerstown man was convicted in Maryland. The jury of eight men and four women heard testimony from 15 witnesses Monday, including the two Pennsylvania victims and two victims from Maryland. Each woman testified to being attacked as they got into their vehicles by a man who in three cases obscured his face with pieces of duct tape.

A masked man robbed a Hagerstown check-cashing business at gunpoint Thursday evening, Hagerstown Police said. An employee at Hagerstown Laundromat and Check Cashing at 521 W. Washington St. left the office briefly and returned about 6:30 p.m. to find a man hiding in the office, Sgt. Jim Hurd said. The man pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the employee and told the employee to open the cash drawer, Hurd said. The man reached inside and removed money, ordered the employee to go into another room and close the door, and fled.

WILLIAMSPORT - Washington County Sheriff's deputies were searching late Monday for a man who robbed a Williamsport business at gunpoint about 6:30 p.m. Police said a man with a shotgun ordered clerks at Wolfe's On the Square to give him all the money in the store. The man took an undisclosed amount of cash from the business in the unit block of West Potomac Street in Williamsport. Police said a witness saw the man get into an 1980s model blue Toyota Celica and drive toward Clear Spring on Md. 68, police said.

ORBISONIA, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police were searching for a man Sunday who robbed a Pennsylvania bank the day before. Police said a man entered Community State Bank in Orbisonia just before noon Saturday. The man robbed the bank at gunpoint and fled in a maroon vehicle. The robber drove north on Pa. 655 toward Huntingdon County, police said. The robber was described as white, in his late 20s or early 30s, with a large build, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, a green ski mask and dark sunglasses, police said.

Armed robbery suspects sought GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police on Sunday night were searching for two men who held up an Antrim Township convenience store. According to the report, the two men robbed the Blue Chip Mini-mart, 13640 Molly Pitcher Highway, shortly after 10 p.m. The store is just off exit 2 off Interstate 81. No one was hurt in the holdup and no handgun was displayed by either man, police said. They were last seen fleeing from the store on foot, police said.

Armed robbery at South End Shopping Center A white man wearing a blue ski mask and a dark coat robbed the Hair After Style Center at the South End Shopping Center at 1029 Maryland Ave. at gunpoint Saturday about 10 minutes after noon, Hagerstown Police said. The man was reported to be about six feet tall with a medium build. It was the second armed robbery reported in the past two days. Edward M. Barcus, 18, of Maugansville was robbed in an alley opposite the U.S. Post Office downtown of about $30 at about 10:25 Friday after a man brandished a knife, Hagerstown Police said.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- Authorities are looking for a man who brandished a semiautomatic handgun when he robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store off East Washington Street near Charles Town Tuesday at 1:22 a.m. The black male suspect was more than 6 feet tall with a slender to medium build, according to Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Detective Steve Holz. Dressed in dark clothing and wearing a ski mask and hat, the robber did not actually point the gun at the clerk, who complied with the robber's demands and gave him an undisclosed amount of money from the register.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police are looking for a man who attempted to abduct a 16-year-old girl from her residence Wednesday afternoon, police said in a news release. Police said the unknown male knocked on the door of the Hunter Road home at about 12:35 p.m. Wednesday. When the girl answered, he tried to pull her from the residence but she resisted, the release said. He then fled. The man is described as light-skinned, 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall, with a thin build.
