Franklin County Dairy Princess Sarah Signore of Greencastle, Pa., plays Dairy Jeopardy with Lyaga Munyofu, 9 of Hershey, Pa., at the 2007 Pennsylvania Farm Show on Sunday. Signore promoted dairy at the show by speaking with visitors about the benefits of a diet that includes dairy, and playing games with children. "Dairy has nine essential nutrients that help your bones, hair and eyes," she said. Signore said Franklin County is the second largest dairy producing county in Pennsylvania.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Franklin County 4-H Annual Recognition Banquet, sponsored by the 4-H Development Committee, was held here recently. Jaclyn Upperman, 4-H County Council president, was the Mistress of Ceremonies. In all, 60 4-H members were recognized for their accomplishments throughout the past year. And, certificates of appreciation were given to more than 115 volunteers for their dedication to the 4-H program. Special awards included: · Alumni Awards to Jeffrey Bryson and Amanda Timmons; · "I Dare You" Leadership Awards to Lindsay Upperman and Jesse Kline; · Junior Achievement Award to Taryn Owens; and Keystone Award to Jesse Kline and Trisha Davis.

CAMP HILL, Pa. - When Sarah Signore was crowned Franklin County Dairy Princess in June, the 17-year-old Greencastle-Antrim High School senior said she was satisfied to promote the county's largest industry within her own county. On Sept. 23, at the Radisson Convention Center that predestination came close to changing during the Pennsylvania Dairy Princess Coronation. After competing for three days with 28 other young women from throughout Pennsylvania, Sarah was not only selected as the top skit/presentation winner and an honorable mention speech winner, she was selected as a top-seven finalist.

MERCERSBURG, Pa. ? Greencastle-Antrim pitcher Sarah Signore had a night to remember on Monday. The Blue Devils junior fired a three-hitter and reached yet another milestone to add to an already splendid career. Signore picked up her 400th strikeout in the second inning of Greencastle's 12-0 six-inning Mid-Penn Colonial victory over rival James Buchanan at the Tuscarora Softball Complex. Signore (9-2), who struck out 12, now has 408 for her career with the Blue Devils (13-2, 11-1)
