Nnamdi Enechionyia and Avery Wilmore had 16 points each, Fred Slater had 10 points, including three 3-pointers and Emmitt Orfan had 10 points for the Saints (1-3, 1-1). JAMES — Josh Hart helped Sidwell Friends shred every defense Saint James had to offer by scoring 27 points in an 80-58 Mid Atlantic Conference victory on Tuesday. Sidwell Friends led 22-6 after one quarter as the Saints (10-7, 3-5) went from at 3-2 zone to a 1-3-1 to man defense to no avail. Avery Wilmore led Saint James with 22 points and seven assists, while Alex Wheeler had 15 points and Leonard Livingston had 10 rebounds.

ST. JAMES - Not unlike any other parents across the United States on Saturday, the vice president and his wife watched their son play high school football. Al and Tipper Gore found their way to the St. James School campus to root for their son Al, who plays middle linebacker for Sidwell Friends. His team defeated host St. James, 50-13. The vice president and his wife were dressed casually. He shook hands with other parents and folks from St. James, as well as some of the game's referees.

Saints take what they can get from Sidwell By BOB PARASILITI / Staff Writer ST. JAMES - It was almost like the St. James basketball team wanted to stay on cordial terms with Sidwell Friends. The Saints weren't exactly demanding about the way the game was going to be played. It was more a case of St. James gladly accepting what their guests were offering. And it wasn't exactly the style of game the Saints liked to play. Yet No. 10 St. James ignored its usual running attack, settling into a 2-3 defensive cocoon and some halfcourt play on Saturday to claim a 56-47 Mid Atlantic Conference victory.

WASHINGTON -- St. James put together a 61-yard drive and scored the go-ahead touchdown with just under six minutes left to post a 26-21 victory over Sidwell Friends on Saturday in the Mid Atlantic Conference opener for both teams. Quarterback Mike Russ scored on a 3-yard run that put the Saints (3-0, 1-0) on top after Sidwell had taken a 21-20 lead in the third quarter. Russ also scored rushing touchdowns from the 7 and 1 and threw a 31-yard scoring pass to Jordan Barr. Russ gained 75 yards rushing on 24 carries and threw for 181 yards on 13-of-24 passing.
