A Williamsport man with convictions in Maryland and Pennsylvania for sexually assaulting boys has been accused of sexually molesting another child, according to Washington County District Court records. David Shawn Ardinger, 46, of 11310 Sword Road is charged with 48 counts, including a dozen each of sex abuse of a minor, third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense and second-degree assault, the court records said. He appeared Tuesday in District Court via closed-circuit television from the Washington County Detention Center for a bond review hearing, during which Judge Mark D. Thomas ordered him held without bail.

A former West Virginia State Police trooper accused of soliciting two 16-year-old girls for sexual relations and nude photos waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Berkeley County Magistrate Court. The waiver was filed Monday on behalf of John Anthony Donohue, 24, who was due to appear before Magistrate Joan V. Bragg Tuesday for a preliminary hearing on one felony count of soliciting a minor, according to court documents. Donohue is being represented by defense attorney B. Craig Manford.

A 25-year-old convicted sex offender was sentenced to one to five years in prison Monday after he pleaded no contest to one count of third-degree sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in 2009. Tyree A. Eldridge also pleaded no contest to one count of possession with intent to deliver a non-narcotic substance in an unrelated case. After entering the pleas, Eldridge also was sentenced by 23rd Judicial Circuit Judge Gina M. Groh to serve another one- to five-year prison sentence for the drug conviction, but that term behind bars will be completed concurrently with the sexual assault penalty as part of a plea agreement reached between Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Pamela Games-Neely and defense attorney Matthew Harvey.

A Williamsport man pleaded guilty Monday in Washington County Circuit Court to sexually molesting a 12-year-old girl and was sentenced to eight years in prison. William Burnell Nulph, 39, of 157 N. Conococheague St., pleaded guilty to a second-degree sex offense and was sentenced by Circuit Judge John H. McDowell to 15 years in prison, with seven years suspended. The conviction also requires Nulph to register with the state as a sex offender for the rest of his life, McDowell said.

The case of a Hagerstown man charged with sex offenses against a girl was forwarded to Washington County Circuit Court following a preliminary hearing this week in District Court. Eric Allen Bryant, 19, of 404 1/2 N. Prospect St., is charged with second-degree rape, attempted second-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense and four counts of second-degree assault, according to court records. Bryant is accused of attempting to have sexual contact with the younger sister of his girlfriend on several occasions from April 2009 to October 2010, according to the application for statement of charges filed by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

HAGERSTOWN -- A Hagerstown man charged with sexually abusing a child had his case transferred to Washington County Circuit Court after a preliminary hearing Thursday in Washington County District Court. District Judge Mark Thomas found probable cause to have the case against Robert P. Hade, 42, moved to Circuit Court for trial. Hade is charged with sex abuse of a minor as a continuing course of conduct, sex abuse of a minor, second-degree sexual assault, third-degree sexual assault and second-degree assault, according to the statement of charges in the case.

Hagerstown man charged in accident in which trailer breaks loose HAGERSTOWN -- A Hagerstown man was charged Thursday with not reporting an accident after a trailer he was hauling Wednesday on Interstate 70 broke loose and hit a car, according to Maryland State Police. Ralph Allen Wiles Jr., 36, was charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident in which someone was hurt, not remaining at the scene, not properly reporting a vehicle accident and driving a loaded vehicle that wasn't secured.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Harrisburg, Pa., man on Tuesday waived his preliminary hearing in Franklin County Central Court on charges that he sexually assaulted a girl repeatedly over a period of about a year. Alexis Ocasio Rivera, 36, is charged with several felony counts of rape of a child, as well as statutory sexual assault and indecent assault. Magisterial District Judge Gary Carter said Rivera is in Franklin County Jail on $125,000 bond and his mandatory arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 6. The girl, now 14, was interviewed in April and told Chambersburg police that Rivera first assaulted her in 2006 at her home, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

A 23-year-old Hagerstown man has been charged with second-degree rape after a woman said he forced her to have intercourse with him Tuesday night, Washington County District Court records show. Michael Dynal Hackey Jr., of 56 North Cannon Ave. in Hagerstown, also was charged with second-degree sex offense and second-degree assault, court records show. The woman said she met Hackey while walking on Franklin Street and the two went back to her apartment in the 100 block of East Franklin Street at about 11:30 p.m. to hang out and drink, Hagerstown Police Department Detective Chris Kayser wrote in charging documents.

Woman sentenced in embezzlement case A Hagerstown woman was given a suspended 18-month jail sentence after she pleaded guilty to embezzling almost $90,000 from her former employer over a period of about a year and a half, according to court records. Lisa Ann Casto, 48, of 13927 Kellen Drive, must undergo 18 months of supervised probation and complete 125 hours of community service by Sept. 15, Washington County District Judge Ralph France ruled Tuesday. Casto was a part-time employee in the payroll department of Hagerstown-based Culligan-Stoner Enterprises Inc. when the company's owner noticed an unauthorized deposit, according to charging documents filed by Hagerstown Police Detective Patricia Moulton.
