MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A 17-year-old girl in court Wednesday gave her account of escaping an alleged sexual assault in a movie theater bathroom stall. cont. from news page The girl alleged a man threw open the stall door, pushed her against the wall and thrust his pelvis at her. Responding to questions by Berkeley County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Greg Jones, she alleged her attacker had lewdly propositioned her and grabbed her breasts before she pushed him away.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting a girl last year at a home in Chambersburg, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police said. Davonte Tyqwane Lindsay, address not given, was charged Tuesday with statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors, according to a state police news release. Troopers said the assaults occurred from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, when Lindsay allegedly had sex with a 13-year-old girl. Police said Lindsay admitted to having consensual intercourse with the girl.

Authorities Wednesday were seeking the public's help in locating a man wanted in Berkeley County, W.Va., and Washington County on charges of sexually assaulting female juveniles, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. It is believed Richard "Ricky" Ernest Brightwell Jr., 32, is in the South Berkeley County area or in Frederick, Md., and may be staying with family or friends, Deputy U.S. Marshal Mike Ulrich said in a news release. The U.S. Marshals Service Mountain State Fugitive Task Force has been helping sheriff's deputies in Berkeley County and Washington County, Md., in the search for Brightwell, Ulrich said.

A 52-year-old man indicted in 1994 on 321 counts of sexual assault, pornography and related charges is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 23 in Berkeley County Circuit Court, Prosecuting Attorney Pamela Games-Neely said Thursday. Randall Ray Waugh of Hagerstown is accused of sexually assaulting a Bunker Hill, W.Va., boy dozens of times beginning in 1988, according to the indictment and Games-Neely. The victim turned 9 that year and was sexually assaulted in subsequent years before Waugh's indictment, according to court documents and Games-Neely.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - A Hedgesville man was charged Wednesday with 15 counts of sexual assault by a parent/guardian after he allegedly forced his 11- and 12-year-old stepgranddaughters to perform sexual acts with him, according to police. The man, 38, was being held in Eastern Regional Jail on $150,000 bail. The abuse occurred while the two girls stayed in the man's Hedgesville home, court records allege. During their visits, the girls slept in the same bed as the man, according to police.

martinsburg@herald-mail.com MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Martinsburg Fire Department firefighter was indicted Wednesday on 71 felony charges stemming from allegations that he sexually assaulted a family member for several years, beginning in 1985 when the boy was 4 years old, according to court records. Amos "Fred" Pearrell Jr., 41, of 9045 River Road, Hedgesville, W.Va., was indicted on 28 counts of first-degree sexual assault, 28 counts of incest and 15 counts of sexual assault by a parent or guardian.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - A 70-year-old woman was kidnapped, robbed and sexually assaulted early Friday when she stopped to pick up someone flagging her down in the road, West Virginia State Police said. A man and a boy abducted the woman at gunpoint around the intersection of W.Va. 9 and W.Va. 480 and forced her to drive to a place where both sexually assaulted her, police said in a news release. Police said they have charged Aaron Franklin Edwards, 27, of Martinsburg, W.Va.

A team of specially trained nurses and social workers is ready, however, to examine victims after an assault and to provide follow-up care. Since October, members of Women In Need's Sexual Assault Response Team, or SART, have provided care for victims of sexual violence through Chambersburg and Waynesboro hospitals.

Pa. man guilty of sexual assault CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Franklin County Court of Common Pleas jury found a Chambersburg man guilty Friday of sexually assaulting his two daughters over a period of several years, according to court records. After a two-day trial before Judge John R. Walker, the jury found the 40-year-old man guilty of six counts of rape, nine counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, 12 counts of aggravated indecent assault, five counts of indecent assault, three counts of incest and three counts of statutory sexual assault.
