A 52-year-old man indicted in 1994 on 321 counts of sexual assault, pornography and related charges is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 23 in Berkeley County Circuit Court, Prosecuting Attorney Pamela Games-Neely said Thursday. Randall Ray Waugh of Hagerstown is accused of sexually assaulting a Bunker Hill, W.Va., boy dozens of times beginning in 1988, according to the indictment and Games-Neely. The victim turned 9 that year and was sexually assaulted in subsequent years before Waugh's indictment, according to court documents and Games-Neely.

martinsburg@herald-mail.com MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Martinsburg Fire Department firefighter was indicted Wednesday on 71 felony charges stemming from allegations that he sexually assaulted a family member for several years, beginning in 1985 when the boy was 4 years old, according to court records. Amos "Fred" Pearrell Jr., 41, of 9045 River Road, Hedgesville, W.Va., was indicted on 28 counts of first-degree sexual assault, 28 counts of incest and 15 counts of sexual assault by a parent or guardian.

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University Police Department is seeking a suspect in the sexual assault of a female Thursday at the school's Old Main/Old Main Circle area, according to a university press release. The man is believed to be in his mid- to late 20s, according to the release. He was described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 200 pounds with broad shoulders, short, blond spiked hair and a goatee, according to the release. He was driving a black Chevrolet pickup, possibly a Silverado, according to the release.

Man pleads guilty to sexual assault By MARLO BARNHART Staff Writer A Hagerstown man who is awaiting trial on a November robbery attempt and assault pleaded guilty Tuesday in Washington County Circuit Court to the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl nearly a year ago. Sean Jeffrey Thompson, 27, was sent back to the Washington County Detention Center by Judge Kennedy Boone, who ordered a pre-sentence investigation. Thompson faces a maximum of 10 years in prison for the third-degree sex offense to which he pleaded guilty.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - A Hedgesville man was charged Wednesday with 15 counts of sexual assault by a parent/guardian after he allegedly forced his 11- and 12-year-old stepgranddaughters to perform sexual acts with him, according to police. The man, 38, was being held in Eastern Regional Jail on $150,000 bail. The abuse occurred while the two girls stayed in the man's Hedgesville home, court records allege. During their visits, the girls slept in the same bed as the man, according to police.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - A 70-year-old woman was kidnapped, robbed and sexually assaulted early Friday when she stopped to pick up someone flagging her down in the road, West Virginia State Police said. A man and a boy abducted the woman at gunpoint around the intersection of W.Va. 9 and W.Va. 480 and forced her to drive to a place where both sexually assaulted her, police said in a news release. Police said they have charged Aaron Franklin Edwards, 27, of Martinsburg, W.Va.

A team of specially trained nurses and social workers is ready, however, to examine victims after an assault and to provide follow-up care. Since October, members of Women In Need's Sexual Assault Response Team, or SART, have provided care for victims of sexual violence through Chambersburg and Waynesboro hospitals.

charlestown@herald-mail.com CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - A Shepherdstown, W.Va., man has been charged with second-degree sexual assault after a woman claimed she was sexually assaulted during a modeling session in a warehouse next to the West Virginia State Police office in Bardane, court records said. David Eric Herson, 44, of 544 Chandler Drive, was arrested and arraigned on the charge Wednesday, according to Jefferson County Magistrate Court records. Herson is free on $10,000 bond.
