MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Berryville, Va., company moved a step closer to bottling honey and salad dressing in Berkeley County, W.Va., Monday night, when the Berkeley County Planning Commission granted preliminary approval of plans for a 30,000-square-foot plant in the Berkeley County Industrial Park. The Virginia Honey Co. Inc., which manufactures honey, molasses, salad dressings and sauces, previously said it expects to finish construction of the plant by September. The plant will employ five workers a shift, a representative of the project told the Planning Commission.

School lunch menus for the week of Monday, Jan. 7, through Friday, Jan. 11: Washington County Monday - Hot dog on bun or steak-and-cheese sub, baked beans, fresh vegetables with dip and mandarin oranges. Secondary also may choose chili. Tuesday - Chicken nuggets with mini biscuit or tuna salad sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and pineapple chunks. Secondary also may choose cream of broccoli soup. Wednesday - Lasagna with meat sauce and Texas toast or beef ravioli with roll, salad, whipped sherbet and pears.

By OMNI VORE Palettie is located on Alternate U.S. 40 in downtown Boonsboro in an old two-story brick building. The word that came to mind after dining at Palettie was sincere. We felt like we had entered a friend's dining room. The food was real, the waitresses were energetic and the setting was attractive. The cook, Lettie Gordon, "is just a mom who likes to cook" explained our waitress. And so we were presented with an uncomplicated menu by a gregarious woman in a room filled with local art by Laura Renee Davis.
