The Hancock Senior High School Class of 1959 recently met at the Hancock Fire Company banquet hall to celebrate its graduates' 65th birthdays. The event was catered by Pittman's. James E. Myers, 84 JUNE 5, 1924-JAN. 30, 2009 MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- James Edward "Bub" Myers, 84, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at City Hospital in Martinsburg. Born June 5, 1924, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late William and Mable Butts Myers. He is survived by four sisters, Daisy Faircloth, Lena Bagent, Patty Myers and Pearl Hess; two brothers, Robert Myers and Lester Myers; nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Kathleen.

AUG. 11, 1929-FEB. 6, 2009 CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Anna R. Snoke, 79, a resident of Providence Place of Chambersburg, and formerly of Greencastle, Pa., died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Providence Place. Born Aug. 11, 1929, in Greencastle, she was the daughter of the late Siebert and Lucy J. Deck Myers. She purchased Oaks Hardware Store, Greencastle, and operated it for a number of years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Greencastle.

HANCOCK - Steve Campbell will soon know the long and short of the high school football business. Campbell, the head coach at Hancock High School for the last six seasons, has resigned as coach and athletic director and accepted the head coaching job at Southern Garrett, Hancock principal Robert Myers confirmed Wednesday. "Coach Campbell has done a good job at our school as both the head football coach and athletic director," Myers said. "He is leaving our football program on solid ground and the kids he has coached have gone on to do good things.

Betty Jane Suder, 74, of Clear Spring, Md., passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011. Born Aug. 27, 1937, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Paul Howard Myers and Maria Elizabeth Divelbliss Myers. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Mickey William Suder Sr., in 2010. She was a member of Mount Calvary Church of God in Clear Spring. She was a 1955 graduate of Hancock High School, retired from the Washington County Hospital and was a homemaker.

MARCH 21, 1944-DEC. 10, 2009 CORRIGANVILLE, Md. - Richard Franklin Myers, 65, of Corriganville, Md., passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., as a result of an aneurysm. Born March 21, 1944, in Hagerstown, Md., Mr. Myers was the son of the late Issac Franklin Myers and Arlene Lillian (Wood) Myers. A U.S. Navy veteran during the Vietnam era, Dick was employed as a long-haul truck driver by D.M. Bowman Inc., and previously was employed by the Kelly-Springfield Tire and Rubber Co. He was a former member of Mount Savage (Md.)

Kenny Keyes spent the last five years trying to get the Hagerstown Community College men's basketball team to run the break. On Thursday, Keyes decided to take one himself. Keyes resigned after five seasons as HCC's coach, which was announced in an e-mailed press release by atheltic director Robert Myers. It ended what became a tedious tenure for the affable Keyes. The search for his replacement will begin immediately. "Kenny resigned because he feels like he needs to take a break from coaching," Myers said.

Robert Lee Myers died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, while under the compassionate care of hospice.  Born near Chewsville, Md., he was the son of the late Wilbur Cleveland Myers and Elnora L. Stouffer Myers. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. (Sterling) Myers; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa S. Myers and Max A. Cacas of Arlington, Va.; sisters, Ruth (Glen) Fox of Williamsport, Md., June Alford and Marie (Ronnie) Harshman, both of Hagerstown, Md., and Chris (Stanley) Mullendore of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and brother-in-law, Jack Hoch of Hagerstown.
