An owner of a Frederick Street restaurant scuffled with a would-be robber Wednesday night, causing him to spill the cash and flee empty-handed, according to charging documents filed in Washington County District Court. The Wednesday night robbery at Dolce restaurant led to the arrest of a man in connection with that and other robberies, including two of three recent robberies at the AC&T gas station a block away from the restaurant, according to the Hagerstown Police Department. Oscar Isaac Lopez, 18, of 607 Hayes Ave., Hagerstown, has been charged with three counts each of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and theft, and a single count of second-degree assault, court records said.

A man has been charged with robbery Friday at a home at 16 West Side Ave., Hagerstown police said. Dwayne Allen Smith, 38, address not provided, was charged with strong-arm robbery, according to a police department news release. Police said they were called to the home on West Side Avenue for a report of a robbery Friday morning. Police alleged that Smith got into an argument with family members at the home and forcibly took cash and prescription medication. Smith fled and was captured a few hours later when he returned to the scene, according to police.

A Pennsylvania man was being held in the Eastern Regional Jail on Friday night following his apprehension in Berkeley County, W.Va., in connection with an armed robbery at the Shepherdstown Pharmacy on Thursday morning. Joshua Armolt, 30, whose address was not available, was taken into custody at an apartment building on Holiday Road in the Swan Pond area of Berkeley County. Members of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, West Virginia State Police and U.S. Marshals were acting on a tip from Martinsburg Police when they spotted Armolt's black Pontiac Sunfire convertible parked in front of the apartment building, according to Lt. T.H. Hansen of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

A Hagerstown man has been charged with using a BB gun to rob another man Wednesday night in the area of the 200 block of West Franklin Street, the Hagerstown Police Department said. James Glenn Childers, 18, of 402 A Mitchell Ave., was charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and theft, according to a police department news release. Police said they received a call at 11:58 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery near the 400 block of West Franklin Street.

A man pointed what appeared to be a handgun in the direction of employees at Shepherdstown Pharmacy when he robbed the business Thursday morning at 7670 Martinsburg Pike, police said. The employees were upset, but not injured in the robbery, which was reported at 10:21 a.m., Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Sgt. Victor Lupis said. Police were told the white male suspect concealed his identity with a black ski mask and also was wearing glasses, Lupis said. The robber was wearing a yellow sweat shirt and blue sweat pants when he entered the business and demanded prescription drugs while brandishing the firearm, according to Lupis.

Chambersburg man charged in connection with burglary SCOTLAND, Pa. - A Fayetteville, Pa., resident had his wife and two children lock themselves in an upstairs bedroom during a burglary Monday morning at 148 W. Main St., according to Pennsylvania State Police. The resident who police did not name armed himself with a gun during the robbery, which occurred about 3 a.m., state police said. Thomas David Strode, 41, of Chambersburg, Pa., later was charged with burglary, trespassing, reckless endangerment, harassment and disorderly conduct in connection with the burglary, state police said.

Hagerstown police said they have charged a man with robbing a bar Tuesday night on South Potomac Street. Parsram Kevin Sukhram, 18, of no fixed address, was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and theft, according to a Hagerstown Police Department news release. Police allege Sukhram was charged in a warrant and arrested Friday after an investigation determined he was one of two men who robbed Side Pockets Bar at 807 S. Potomac St. A uniformed officer saw two suspicious-looking males enter Side Pockets at about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, the release said.

The AC&T gas station at 724 Frederick St. in Hagerstown, was robbed Wednesday night, the third reported robbery at the business in the last two weeks, according to a Hagerstown Police Department spokesman. A white male with dark clothing, a mask and gloves entered the station and demanded money, Sgt. John Lehman said. No weapon was displayed and the male left the station with an undisclosed amount of cash, Lehman said. The man was last seen heading toward railroad tracks behind the store and a police dog “picked up something” to track, Lehman said.

The man suspected in the Spring Mills, W.Va., Walmart pharmacy robbery Tuesday was due to appear in Washington County Circuit Court today for an unrelated burglary case, according to court records. Jesse Lee Gibson, 27, of 1483 Oak Grove Road in Hedgesville, W.Va., was arraigned Wednesday by Berkeley County Magistrate Harry L. Snow on felony counts of robbery and bringing a stolen vehicle into the state and misdemeanor counts of driving while license revoked for driving under the influence, DUI and possession of a controlled substance, according to court documents.
