Here is a list of road and lane closures for Tuesday, June 14: Work to expand the intersection of Massey Boulevard and Halfway Boulevard near Hagerstown continues, causing traffic to be backed up in each direction at different times. Roadwork is expected to continue there until Thanksgiving. Work to widen the intersection of Dual Highway and Edgewood Drive continues. Traffic is sometimes sluggish in both directions. Md. 550 in Thurmont, Md., is still closed in both directions between Eylers Valley Flint Road and Kelbaugh Road due to a mudslide that occurred April 17. The Maryland State Highway Administration says it could open to one lane very soon, but it is unsure when it will completely reopen.

A downed Comcast service line closed Interstate 81 near the Holiday Inn in Martinsburg for more than an hour and Friday afternoon, causing substantial congestion along the highway, U.S. 11 and connecting routes, Berkeley County Sheriff Kenneth Lemaster Jr. said. The highway was reopened about 3:30 p.m., after the downed line was reported just after 2 p.m., according to Lemaster, who expected traffic conditions would remain congested until about 5 p.m. Supports for the downed utility line apparently failed due to windy conditions, but the wire did not break, Lemaster said.

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office closed some ramps and sections of Interstate 70 and U.S. 15 Friday to provide for the dignified return of a slain U.S. Marine from Hagerstown. The roads closed for up to 15 minutes around midday for a police-escorted transport of the remains of Lance Cpl. Maung Htiak from Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to the Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick, the sheriff's office said. The transportation went smoothly and without incident, the sheriff's office said.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. --Traffic on U.S. 11 south of Martinsburg will be restricted for much of Labor Day weekend to accommodate the Thunder Over the Blue Ridge Open House & Air Show at Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport. o City central lot will be closed from 6 a.m. Thursday, June 3, and will reopen by 6 a.m. Sunday, June 6. o Beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, June 5, the portion of North Potomac Street between Franklin and Washington Streets will be closed to through traffic to allow for set-up of the Saturday portion of the Blues Fest. Vehicles can turn left onto Potomac Street from Franklin Street in order to access the Potomac Street parking deck but will not be allowed beyond the deck's entrance.

Lehmans Mill Road is scheduled to close to through traffic near the intersection with Md. 60 on Monday, Jan. 4, to allow for reconstruction of a portion of that road and stabilization of stream bank areas along Antietam Creek. The road closure is scheduled to be in effect from through May. All work will be done along Lehmans Mill Road. A detour will be posted to route traffic around the project during the road-closure period. The current culvert replacement project on Crystal Falls Drive near Pondsville Road will be completed on or about Monday and the final in a series of three stream culvert replacement projects is set to begin, the Washington County Division of Public Works Capital Projects Engineering Department said Wednesday. Work to replace the third and final stream crossing -- approximately two-tenths of a mile north of the intersection of Crystal Falls Drive and Pondsville Road -- is scheduled to begin, and the road will close to through traffic at that location, on or about Dec. 3. The road closure, required for replacement of a stream culvert pipe crossing under Crystal Falls Drive, will last about 45 days.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- Beginning Monday, weather permitting, Bloomery Road (W.Va. 27) in Jefferson County will be closed to through traffic about two miles north of W.Va. 9 for about a week, the West Virginia Division of Highways announced. The road closure is necessary for installation of the remaining sections of a precast concrete arch structure for the new four-lane route for W.Va. 9 now under construction, officials said. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, such as the current route for W.Va.
