The Episcopal Motorcycle Ministry will hold a Motorcycle Mass Saturday at 6 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Lappans Road. The newly-formed ministry, titled “Taking the Church Out on the Road,” invites all motorcycle enthusiasts, family members and the public to a Saturday Motorcycle Mass at 6 p.m. The informal outdoor service (in case of rain, it will be held indoors), includes readings from scripture, a short sermon, prayers and Holy Communion. The Rev. Steve McCarty, vicar of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Clear Spring, is the organizer and will preside at the service.

There is a wonderful set of homes and houses of worship in Hancock, many of them dating back to the pre-Civil War era. This event, sponsored by the Hancock Historical Society and Museum, takes place Nov. 21 and 22 from 1 to 5 p.m. Most of the locations are within easy walking distance from each other, with the rest to the west of town on Old National Pike.

"Thank you for the recent article on Mr. Chaney, the waving gentleman. I always consider it a lucky day when I see him when I'm driving around. " - Hagerstown "Last week was visitation at Maugansville Elementary and it went real well. I visited on Tuesday, along with quite a few other parents/family members. The gentleman who was minding the entrance to the school was kept very busy and was a great asset the whole week. The article in the paper that featured him several weeks ago was great; he is a wonderful help to the staff at the school.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- A Chambersburg man charged with using a camera disguised as a clock to take pictures in the restroom of the office in which he worked pleaded guilty recently in Franklin County Court and was sentenced to a year on probation. Andrew E. Gahagan, 33, entered the plea Feb. 6 before Judge Douglas Herman, attorney Eric Weisbrod said. In exchange for the plea, two other counts of invasion of privacy were dismissed, according to court records. Gahagan came to the attention of police last summer when an employee at the Chambersburg-area business removed a clock from the back of the toilet in the restroom.

A fire in a boys bathroom forced a short evacuation of Northern Middle School about 8:30 a.m. Monday, according to Washington County Public Schools spokeswoman Carol Mowen. "Some paper products in the restroom area were smoldering," Mowen said. School staff pulled an alarm after discovering the situation, Mowen said. Students and staff evacuated the building and Hagerstown Fire Department responded to the scene, she said. Students returned to the building within 15 minutes, Mowen said.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A 17-year-old girl alleged she fought off a man who was sexually attacking her Monday in a bathroom at Hoyts Cinemas, according to police. The Martinsburg Police Department charged Jason Paul Williams, 22, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., with first-degree sexual abuse. Bond was set at $10,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 29. Williams has asked the court to appoint an attorney to represent him. A written account of the incident filed by Officer Terry Shetley in Berkeley County Magistrate Court alleges a man entered a women's bathroom, forced open a stall and pushed the teenager against a wall.

ROUZERVILLE, Pa. - As a new community service project, the Rouzerville Lions Club and Rouzerville Business Association will build restrooms at Red Run Park in Washington Township, Pa. Lions Club representatives shared preliminary plans for the restrooms Wednesday with the Washington Township Supervisors. They asked the supervisors for permission to move forward with the project in the township-owned park. "I think they're needed. I've heard complaints for a few years about the restrooms down there," Supervisor Elaine Gladhill said.

An architect's plans for installing restrooms at the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad roundhouse and shops in Martinsburg are about ready to be put out for bid. The Berkeley County Roundhouse Authority on Saturday authorized architect Matthew Grove to advertise the project to contractors after board members reviewed drawings and various material options. Grove said the work could take between 75 and 150 days to complete. Grove told board members he indicated the project could be put out to bid next month.
