FREDERICK, Md. ? A Hagerstown man died of a gunshot wound Thursday morning in an apartment in Frederick, the Frederick Police Department said. Officers who responded to a report of a shooting at 1:47 a.m. found Michael Abraham Brall, 23, with a single gunshot wound to the chest, police said in a news release. When emergency personnel arrived, they determined Brall was dead, police said. Police said Brall and several friends were in the apartment when he and Brian Gregory Stone, 22, went into a bedroom to look at a handgun that belonged to Stone's roommate, who was not there at the time.

A Frederick, Md., man has been charged with breaking into his former girlfriend's Hagerstown home on Tuesday and pulling a knife on her, police said. Libni Hernandez, 18, of 1467 Key Parkway in Frederick, was charged with one count each of first-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, fourth-degree sex offense, malicious destruction of property and reckless endangerment, according to a Hagerstown Police Department news release.

HAGERSTOWN -- The case of a man charged with threatening to detonate explosives at a local mobile home park was transferred to Washington County Circuit Court earlier this month. Michael Austin Womack, 34, of 1328 Fairchild Ave. in Hagerstown, was charged in October with arson threats, possession of explosives, reckless endangerment and hazardous substances. The case was filed in Circuit Court on Dec. 16. A witness alleged on Oct. 28 that Womack was looking at a Web site about building bombs, and detonating chemical-reaction devices at the mobile home park, according to District Court records.

A Hagerstown man accused of stabbing a dog and threatening its owner Wednesday was being held on $75,000 bail following a bond hearing Thursday in Washington County District Court. Robert Julian Scheidegger, 58, was charged by the Washington County Sheriff's Office with first-degree assault, mutilating an animal and reckless endangerment in the incident, which occurred at the State Line Motel on Mason-Dixon Road, court records said. A witness told police that Scheidegger and a woman had argued and that when she left his room, his dog got out, the statement of probable cause said.

A Hagerstown woman has been indicted by a Washington County grand jury on a charge of manslaughter in the drowning death of her infant son earlier this year, according to Circuit Court records. Taria Michelle King, 27, of 309 E. Ridge Drive, also was indicted last week on charges of reckless endangerment and neglect of a child in the death of 7-month-old Ronald Oliver Jr. on March 7, court records said. When ambulance personnel arrived at King's home that day, Oliver was lying on his back on the bathroom floor and was immediately taken to Meritus Medical Center, according to the incident report from the Hagerstown Police Department.

A Hagerstown man accused of pulling a gun on his ex-girlfriend and another man on Friday was being still held Tuesday on $350,000 bond, according to Washington County District Court records. Marcel Joseph Guerin, 32, of 945 View St. is charged with two counts each of first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, and one count of using a firearm in a crime of violence, the court records said. Hagerstown police went to a home in the 100 block of East Baltimore Street shortly before 7 p.m. Friday to respond to a report of a man with a handgun, according to the statement of probable cause filed by police.

A Fulton County, Pa., woman accused of using eyedrops to sicken a man over three years faces additional charges. Fulton County District Attorney Travis Kendall this week amended the criminal complaint against Vickie Jo Mills, 33, of 18250 Great Cove Road in Ayr Township, Pa. He added additional counts to the three charges already filed. Mills is now charged with 10 felony counts of aggravated assault, 10 misdemeanor counts of simple assault and 10 misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, according to a news release.

Franklin County Crime Solvers has offered up to a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man charged with driving a truck toward a Washington Township police officer earlier this month. Donald Ray Andrews has been charged in an arrest warrant with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and simple assault, township police said in a news release. During a traffic stop on Sept. 3 at the intersection of Pa. 16 and Monterey Lane in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., a passenger in the pulled-over vehicle got into the driver's seat and drove the truck toward an officer and the driver of the truck.

A Hagerstown woman accused of stabbing and seriously injuring her boyfriend Tuesday morning was ordered to remain in the county detention center without bail during a bond review hearing Wednesday in Washington County District Court. Renee Nichole Benjamin, 19, of 720 W. Franklin St., appeared before District Court Judge Ralph H. France II via closed circuit television from the detention center. Benjamin is charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to injure in the incident at her home.
