RANSON, W.Va. - A Ranson man who was shocked while working on a house Wednesday afternoon in Ranson was listed in critical condition at Washington (D.C.) Hospital Center Thursday afternoon. Billy Carroll, 29, of 127 W. 7th Ave. was handling a piece of aluminum trim when he touched a power line with the trim, said Donald Longerbeam, assistant chief of the Independent Fire Co. Carroll was shocked and fell off a scaffold, which was about 20 feet to 30 feet high, Longerbeam said.

Carl W. Clinton, 45 JUNE 11, 1963-APRIL 1, 2009 RANSON, W.Va. - Carl Wallace "Ba Boo" Clinton, 45, of Ranson, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center. Born June 11, 1963, in Ranson, he was the son of Ralph W. Clinton and Jacqueline A. Hall Clinton of Ranson. He was a 1982 graduate of Eastmoor Senior High School in Columbus, Ohio. He was a truck driver for Kinsley Construction Co. in York, Pa. He was a Methodist.

RANSON, W.Va. - A sign-up period for the first 1999 Environmental Quality Incentives Program ranking period will be from Monday, Nov. 2, through Friday, Nov. 13, at the USDA Service Center in Ranson. Although sign-ups are taken year-round, it is advantageous to be in the first ranking period because funds are limited. Sign-up for the Conservation Reserve and Wildlife Habitat Incentive programs will also be taken at that time.
