MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Five women between the ages of 27 and 48 were arrested Thursday on charges of solicitation of prostitution, the Martinsburg Police Department announced Friday. The women arrested were: Tasha Schell, 27, of 410 S. Tennessee Ave., Martinsburg Jennifer Lyn Carson, 27, of 207 N. Boundary St., Ranson, W.Va. Trineka T. Steward, 32, no fixed address Judy Rae Smith, 44, of 144 Caplinger Drive, Martinsburg Anna Mae Rice, 48, of 46 Capital Drive, Martinsburg.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- A preliminary hearing for a woman charged with prostitution-related offenses involving two teenage runaways was continued Tuesday in Franklin County Central Court while a man charged in the case remains at large, according to the Franklin County District Attorney's Office. Candy Lee Hubbard, 31, of 61 S. Franklin St., is charged with two counts each of felony sexual exploitation of children, misdemeanor promoting prostitution and misdemeanor corruption of minors.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- A Chambersburg woman was charged this week with prostituting two teenage runaways she kept in her home in August, and more charges against other people could be forthcoming, according to the Chambersburg Police Department. Cindy Lee Hubbard, 31, of 61 S. Franklin St., was charged with two counts each of sexual exploitation of children, a second-degree felony; promoting prostitution, a third-degree felony; and corruption of minors, a first-degree misdemeanor.

An alleged dominatrix on the lam since being indicted in 2001 was arrested in Hagerstown, according to a spokesman for a Virginia police department. Patricia Helen Meehan, 55, initially stated her last name was "Noonan" after Maryland State Police troopers came to her house at 820 Marion St. on May 8. Bill Kennedy, public information officer for the Stafford County (Va.) Sheriff's Office, said the woman was indicted in 2001 on charges of prostitution, keeping a bawdy house, crimes against nature and manufacturing marijuana.

Police seek woman who led them on chase FREDERICK, Md. - A purse holding a loaded handgun sent police on a five-county chase Friday afternoon when the woman who lost the purse tried to pick it up at the Frederick hotel where she left it, according to a Frederick County Sheriff's Office press release. Police still were searching Friday for Nakeya C. Brown, 22, of Gaithersburg, Md., who they allege left the purse at the FSK Holiday Inn on Holiday Drive, according to the release.
