Police said a Saturday night pursuit of a motorist that started on South Mountain Road in Quincy Township ended when the vehicle struck a utility pole near Dixon Road. The incident began when police noticed the vehicle traveling erratically at about 11:50 p.m., Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the motorist did not comply, police said. A pursuit of the vehicle started on South Mountain Road near a National Guard facility, police said.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission and Pennsylvania State Police responded Saturday afternoon to the scene of a hunting accident in Montgomery Township, Pa., according to Franklin County Emergency Services. The incident was reported at 4:44 p.m. and occurred in the area of the 8900 block of Corner Road, the release said. Fire and ambulance personnel were dispatched from the Mercersburg, Montgomery, Peters and Warren Volunteer Fire Co., along with a Waynesboro (Pa.) Advanced Life Support unit, the release said.

Vehicle used to ram gate at Wilson College CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A vehicle was used to ram a metal gate to the soccer and softball fields at Wilson College Sunday morning, according to Pennsylvania State Police. It appears a vehicle was used to repeatedly ram the gate on Philadelphia Avenue until the gate broke from its hinges, state police said. The incident occurred between 3:40 and 7 a.m., state police said. Anyone with information about the incident may call state police at 717-264-5161.

A 49-year-old Huntingdon County, Pa., man was killed in an auto accident Friday night on Pa. 641 west of Newburg, Pa., according to Pennsylvania State Police. Police said Kenneth E. Boyd Sr., of Shade Gap, was speeding in a 2005 Kia Optima while traveling west in the area of 8023 Newburg Road (Pa. 641) when he lost control and slid sideways into the eastbound lane about 5:19 p.m. A 2003 Hyundai Tiburon, being driven by Abigail Catherine Grix, 19, of Mifflintown, Pa., was traveling east and struck Boyd's vehicle, causing it to flip onto its roof and onto the hood of the Tiburon, police said.

Two brothers were being held without bond at Franklin County Jail on Thursday, facing several charges, including attempted homicide, police said. Pennsylvania State Police said they charged Jemoni L. Ghee, 21, and Jelani Q. Ghee, 25, related to the assault of a 28-year-old who is being treated at York (Pa.) Hospital for serious injuries. Clarence H. Green Jr., of Chambersburg, was listed in serious condition Thursday night, according to a hospital spokeswoman. Both Ghee men also are charged with aggravated assault and robbery.

Pennsylvania State Police said about $2,500 in cash and three guns were stolen Sunday from a home on Molly Pitcher Highway. The home in the 14000 block was entered between 9:10 a.m. and 1:20 p.m., state police said. Guns stolen in the burglary included a Smith & Wesson .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun with black grips and a stainless frame, a .44-magnum Ruger Red Hawk with a 6 1/2-inch barrel and scope and a .22 caliber Ruger semi-automatic handgun with a wood grip and a stainless slide, state police said.

A chainsaw and a cutting torch were stolen from D.L. Meyers Welding at 6722 Windmill Road last week, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The saw and the torch were stolen between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 24 and 6:45 a.m. Oct. 25 when someone entered the business and cut five ground cables to welders, state police said. It was the second burglary within a week at the business in St. Thomas Township, state police said. Anyone with information about the burglary can call state police at 717-264-5161.
