Theft of $5,000 from Hamilton Township home investigated CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police were investigating the theft of $5,000 from a Hamilton Township man's home that was reported on Thursday. A key to a safe was taken from the bedroom of the man's home in the 4000 block of Guitner Road, troopers said. The cash and more than 100 Tramadol pills were taken from the safe, troopers said. Anyone with information about the incident may call Pennsylvania State Police at 717-264-5161.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Two Dollar General employees were robbed at gunpoint as they left the store after closing Monday, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release. At about 9:30 p.m., a man approached them, demanded money and displayed a small black handgun, police said. He was described as a black man in his 20s, between 6 feet and 6 feet 4 inches tall, with a thin to medium build, wearing dark clothing, police said. WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- The arrest of Jeffrey E. Miles Sr. in April afforded Maryland State Police a fresh possibility in cases that have long been considered cold. After Miles was charged in the slaying of Kristy Dawn Hoke, investigator Rick Bachtell gathered the cold cases he's worked over the years for the Maryland State Police and presented them to Pennsylvania authorities. Sgt. Bachtell met with Pennsylvania State Police, who found Hoke's body in a wooded area in Waynesboro, to discuss several cases from Washington and Frederick counties.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - After a traffic stop on Saturday, a Chambersburg resident was charged with driving under the influence, Pennsylvania State Police said. Jody L. Myers Jr., 18, was stopped about 2:20 a.m. at Pa. 995 and U.S. 30, police said in a news release.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said they are investigating the theft of copper wire at 5380 Manheim Road in Chambersburg. Someone took copper wire from Allegheny Power sometime between Sept. 1 and Nov. 3, police said in a news release.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A counterfeit $10 bill was passed at the Wal-Mart store in Guilford Township earlier this month, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Police said the bogus bill was used for a Jan. 3 purchase.

Attempted burglary at Chambersburg Arby's probed CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg said they are investigating an attempted burglary Thursday at Arby's at 10820 John Wayne Drive. Someone smashed the drive-through window and got inside, but nothing was taken, troopers said. No additional information was available Sunday night.

FANNETTSBURG, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police said they were looking for a person who committed a burglary Aug. 18. Someone broke into a home on Long Lane and took firearms and a small amount of money, police said in a news release. Police asked anyone with information about the burglary to call 717-264-5161.
