JUNE 15, 1927-SEPT. 29, 2009 FREDERICK, Md. - Ruby Marie Foster, 82, of Crestwood Village, Frederick, Md., died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Margate Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson, N.C. Born June 15, 1927, in Mountain City, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Rettie Wiles Denney. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Cleveland Foster, Oct. 29, 1990. She is survived by two daughters, Joan M. Kennan of Paw Paw, W.Va., and Julie V. Conway of Frederick; one son, Jack E. Foster of Boonsboro; two sisters, Sue Friley and Juanita Little, both of Jefferson; three brothers, Bob Denney of Zionville, N.C., Joe Denney of Smyrna, Ga., and Bruce Denney of Seaford, Del.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Brandon Allen had two hits and Brandon Greene and Brandon Toloso had two RBIs for the Wildcats (2-2, 2-1), who scored nine runs in the second. Dylan Stouffer hit a solo blast in the fifth and a two-run shot in the seventh, Logan Appel had two hits, including a home run in the first, and Brent Mentzer and Tyler Walling had two hits each for the Blazers (1-2, 0-2)

Autom Maxine Statler, 101, of Hagerstown, passed away, Friday, April 19, 2013, at Autumn Assisted Living, Hagerstown. Born May 18, 1911, in Paw Paw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Stanley R. and Jessa P. (Fletcher) Brill. Mrs. Statler was a homemaker and a member of The First Baptist Church, Hagerstown. She is survived by a daughter, Judith Y. Leggett of Hagerstown; one granddaughter, Lori Lyn Zeger of Williamsport; and three great-grandsons, Zachary, Kevin and Jesse Zeger.

Bubba Kriner had three hits, including a triple, and David Fisler and Ethan Nield had three hits each for the Eagles (6-0, 6-0), who rapped out 17 hits. Friday, October 12, 2012 PREP FOOTBALL BRUNSWICK, Md. - Brunswick's defense got its first shutout of the season and its offense ran more than 100 plays as the Railroaders beat Williamsport 40-0 on Friday. Brunswick's defense held Williamsport to 83 total yards. David Moore had two interceptions, and Shane Gerstner also picked off a pass. The Railroaders (4-3, 2-1 MVAL Antietam) also recovered two onside kicks, putting the ball back into the hands of an offense that ran 107 plays.

Martin Geben had 18 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and five steals for Goretti (14-9). Yannick Zanfack had 11 points and five steals. GIRLS BASKETBALL SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Amanda Snider had 16 points, five rebounds and five assists to help No. 3 James Buchanan defeat Shippensburg 52-44 on Tuesday night in a key Mid-Penn Capital matchup. James Buchanan's win left the Rockets (9-3, 5-0) in sole possesion of first place ahead of the Hounds (7-5, 3-1). Leanne Cristofano had 14 points and seven rebounds, Kayla Meyers grabbed 10 rebounds and Alicia Myers added six rebounds and five assists for the Rockets.
