"I get to vent," she added. Seven-year-old Garrett Hamby said he's seen the movie version of "The Wizard of Oz" lots of times.

katec@herald-mail.com Hilda Hollenbaugh doesn't like frozen whipped topping. Years ago, when a co-worker brought Pig-Pickin' Cake to work, Hollenbaugh refused even to taste it because the icing was made with the cold fluffy stuff. After a while she gave in and tried a little bit. Despite the name - and she has no idea of its source - Hollenbaugh liked the cake and asked for the recipe. Fruity, moist Pig-Pickin' Cake has become one of her specialties. "Every time I take this cake somewhere, people want the recipe," Hollenbaugh says.

I was talking with my mom the other day and we agreed that 1939's "The Wizard of Oz" was my first favorite movie.  When I was a toddler I would make her impersonate the characters for hours on end, I owned toy models of all the characters, my first Halloween costume was the Tin Man, and, of course, I watched the movie enough times to make my poor parents sick of it. I knew there was basically no chance that the new prequel "Oz the Great and Powerful"...

RANSON, W.Va. - Rob Payne, 53, and his wife, Debra, 52, have loved "The Wizard of Oz" for years. Walk into their Ranson home and you're bound to see Oz memorabilia (along with collectibles from another 1939 film, "Gone with the Wind"). When L. Frank Baum's children's book "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" leapt from book to movie screen 70 years ago, "The Wizard of Oz" became an instant classic. With its iconic images - ruby-red slippers, flying monkeys and the Lollipop Guild - and much- loved songs, "Over the Rainbow" and "If I Only Had A Brain," "The Wizard of Oz" continues to be a favorite film.
