The mother of a 2-year-old child was charged with reckless endangerment Friday morning after her child was found alone in a vehicle at the Prime Outlets Hagerstown parking lot, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said. Prime Outlets had opened at midnight for Black Friday, and the child was found at about 2:45 a.m., crying inside a locked car that was not running, deputies said in a news release. Emergency workers opened the vehicle, which was parked in a lot near the food court at Prime Outlets.

For most, it was only the first stop they would make. Convinced that the bargains and the experience would be worth it, thousands spent the first hours of Black Friday at Prime Outlets at Hagerstown. Most stores at the outlet mall opened at midnight, and were offering additional discounts to earlier shoppers. Many planned to spend several hours there before heading to area stores opening at 4 a.m. and later. "It's an adventure," said Carol Hamilton of Martinsburg, W.Va. "And it's fun. " This was the second year that Prime Outlets at Hagerstown opened at midnight on Black Friday.

WAYNESBORO, PA. - One of the largest commercial buildings in downtown Waynesboro is in the midst of a nearly $1 million overhaul by its new owners. The Outlet Barn, once a popular destination for metropolitan shoppers, has been mostly vacant in recent years. "The building is a good old building, but it needs some love," Kevin Ryckis said. He and his wife, Suria, were looking to open a Gold's Gym, and the Carlisle, Pa., couple felt Waynesboro was the right fit. "We saw this building, and it was meant to be," Kevin Ryckis said.

Alfred Dunner has opened a 2,791-square-foot retail store at Prime Outlets-Hagerstown. The store will hold a grand opening weekend event from Friday, July 27, through Sunday, July 29. During the event, all merchandise will be 30 percent to 70 percent off, according to a prepared release from Prime Outlets. Alfred Dunner, a 50-year-old, family-owned and operated business, offers a range of sizes including misses, petite and women's sizes. Prime Outlets-Hagerstown is at 495 Prime Outlets Boulevard in Hagerstown.
