Megan Louia of Funkstown was one of 20 students recently inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa honor society at Susquehanna University. Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honorary organization, recognizes juniors and seniors who have achieved in and out of the classroom. Qualifications for membership include exemplary character, responsible leadership and service, superior scholarship and genuine fellowship. The Weber Circle, Susquehanna's chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, was chartered in 1992.

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. -- Sara Catherine Metz of Hagerstown was awarded the William Donald Schaefer Internship Program for Government Service Award at the annual St. Mary's College of Maryland Awards Convocation. Metz is a junior majoring in political science and a student-designed major in international relations. She is a Maryland Senatorial Scholar, a Maryland Distinguished Scholar semifinalist, and a recipient of a Nitze Scholars Leadership Program Award, an Academic Achievement Award and a Presidential Award.

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Washington County residents Brittany Higgins and Jessica Powers were among 30 Bridgewater College seniors who have been selected for inclusion in the 2008 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Brittany, a 2004 Williamsport High School graduate, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Higgins of Williamsport. Brittany, who is majoring in communication studies, is a member of Lambda Pi Eta, a national communications honor society.

Harry D. White Jr., 77, of Rochester, Mich., passed away June 15, 2011, at his home. He was born June 9, 1934, to Harry D. White Sr. and Dorothy White in Annapolis, Md. His beloved wife of 55 years, Nancy McCauley White, died Saturday, July 23, 2011. He is survived by three children, Mark (Susie) White of Charlottesville, Va., Stacy (Scot) Cleaveland of Troy, Mich., and Cindy Keepers of Roswell, Ga.; and eight grandchildren. Harry was preceded in death by his brother, Marty White.
