Margaret Elizabeth Loudenslager "Sis" Athey, 92, of 9640 Sylvania Metamora, Sylvania, Ohio, formerly of Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Sunset Village Care Center in Toledo, Ohio. Born June 15, 1919, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Everhart and Helen Pinnine Baker Loudenslager. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Athey, on June 15, 1994. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, and friend to all. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

JULY 26, 1925-JAN. 6, 2009 MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Priscilla Jane Knapp, 83, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009. Born July 26, 1925, in Kokomo, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Harry Otis Nickelson and Helen Marie Peacock Nickelson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Knapp. She worked as a nursing assistant in the Mansfield, Ohio, area. She was a member of Gallilean Baptist Church in Shepherdstown, W.Va. She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn P. Smith of Bunker Hill, W.Va.

JAN. 30, 1929-FEB. 13, 2009 WILLIAMSPORT --Â Francine L. DeNobrega, 80, of Oak Tree Lane, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at her home. Born Jan. 30, 1929, in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Nelly Parshall. She attended and graduated from high school in Ohio. She was a homemaker. She is survived by three daughters, Karen Barklow, Kathy Kelly and Kimberly Shoop; three sons Calvin R. Shirley Jr., Craig Shirley and Cary Shirley; four sisters, Emily, Gloria, Carol and Grace; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

M. Wayne Warrenfeltz, age 70, passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 at his residence in Centerburg, Ohio, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by parents Milton O. and Mary E. (Poffenberger) Warrenfeltz. Wayne is survived by Patricia (Snowberger) Warrenfeltz, his wife of 51 years; son, Curtis Warrenfeltz of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughters, Sharon Newcomer of Ringgold, Md., Debra Warrenfeltz of Delaware, Ohio, and Julie Zubiate of Carmel, Ind.; six grandchildren and four great-grandsons.

Ruth Marie Wiles, 86, of 20526 Trovinger Mill Road, Hagerstown, Md., died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Julia Manor Health Care Center. Born July 3, 1925, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Emma Grace Rummel Suter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Kenneth E. Wiles, on May 5, 2012. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville, Md. She is survived by one son, Kenneth M. Wiles of Sylvania, Ohio; and two granddaughters, Cheryl Ann Wagoner of Lucky, Ohio, and Lisa Marie Wiles of Corrington, Kentucky.

Lt. Col. LaVelle M. “Marq” Foley, U.S. Army Ret., 77, of 22 Wynncrest Drive, Waynesboro, Pa., passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Baltimore, Md., following a brief illness. Born April 18, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late LaVelle Haines and Helen I. (Marquand) Foley. He was a graduate of Kirtland High School with the Class of 1953. He later was a graduate of Kent State University and received his master's degree in business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1977.

By MARLO BARNHART Staff Writer Despite the contentions of two Ohio doctors that carrying 100-plus doses of morphine in their family van was routine, a Washington County District Court judge didn't agree on Thursday. Judge Noel Spence found Dr. Arlene Marie Basedow, 42, and Dr. William Kent Basedow, 44, of Ironton, Ohio, guilty of one count each of possession of morphine. The maximum penalty is four years in prison and/or a $25,000 fine on each count. Arlene Basedow also was found guilty of possession of drug paraphernalia, a used syringe found in her purse.

JUNE 13, 1966-JUNE 30, 2010 BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Donal Lee Sherrard Jr., 44, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center. Born June 13, 1966, in Amherst, Ohio, he was the son of Kathryn Ann Kropf Sherrard of Hedgesville, W.Va., and the late Donal Lee Sherrard Sr. He was a Christian. He earned a bachelor of science degree in Parks and Recreation and had worked as a naturalist at Cacapon State Park. He retired, due to disability, from FedEx, where he had worked as a forklift operator.

YOUTH BASEBALL The Hagerstown Colt League All-Stars begin tournament play tonight in Struthers, Ohio, in the Super Regional for the East Zone's West Region. Hagerstown will face Johnstown (Pa.) at 7:30 p.m. "We have a strong team, both offensively and defensively," Hagerstown manager Steve McLucas said. "We only have one player who hit below .450 in league play and a strong pitching staff, with nine boys who can throw. We are looking forward to getting started. David Riddle of Cincinnati won the JFK 50 mile ultramarathon on Saturday. The 30-year-old finished in a time of 5 hours, 40 minutes and 44 seconds, breaking the JFK course record that had stood for 17 years.
