GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- After 8,000 stagings and earning an estimated half-billion dollars for theaters world wide, the playwright behind the "Nunsense" says he is working on the last play in the franchise. The news arrives on the 25th anniversary of the original "Nunsense. " Dan Goggin is directing a celebratory production with Sally Struthers as Mother Superior. The production will be at The Majestic Theater in Gettysburg on Friday. "It's gotten the point where we've done all the angles possible," says "Nunsense" creator Goggin, during a recent interview with The Herald-Mail.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -A little bit of "Nunsense" never hurt anyone. So say the cast and crew behind the Apollo Civic Theatre's production of "Nunsense 2: The Second Coming. " The theater will debut the musical Friday, Sept. 14. The production will run for two weekends, six shows. There was a great deal of "nunsense" going on at a recent dress rehearsal, where one nun was clad in feather boa and another wore a cancan skirt. "If you come out and can't get a chuckle out of this one, you'd better go back to Shakespeare," said Claudia J. Patterson of Charles Town.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Actress Sally Struthers has this thing about stopping: She doesn't like to do it. "You've got to keep moving to create a breeze," said Struthers in a phone interview during a tour stop in Massachusetts. Struthers has the lead role as Mother Superior in a 25th anniversary production of "Nunsense," directed by its creator Dan Goggin. The show is coming to Gettysburg's Majestic Theater for a one-night-only show Friday. Struthers said that in an environment when good work is getting harder to come buy, she's glad to still be in the business.

Musical auditions set for 'Nunsense' BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Auditions for the next production of the Ice House Theater Project - the musical comedy, "Nunsense" - are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. both nights at the Ice House in Berkeley Springs. All roles are to be cast with equal opportunity for young and mature adults regardless of gender. "They'll be playing nuns in drag," said Mary Alice Ross, producer, "but men will be welcome in any of the roles.

Chambersburg Community Theatre (CCT) will hold open auditions for the area premiere of Dan Goggin's musical, "Nunsensations! The Nunsense Vegas Revue" at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 and Monday, Feb. 13, at The Capitol Theatre, 159 S. Main St.; please use the Wood Center entrance (off the parking lot on West Washington Street). Roles are available for five women age 18 and older. Those auditioning should prepare 16 bars of a song that shows their vocal range and personality. They should also be prepared to read from the script and dance (we'll teach a combination)
