CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Tiffany Nicholson scored 12 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead top-seeded North Marion to a 66-50 win over No. 4 Martinsburg in the girls Class AAA semifinals Friday night. North Marion (25-1) advanced to the championship game for the first time since losing to Capital in 2002 in its only previous appearance. A Hailey Garrett basket midway through the third quarter put North Marion ahead to stay, 32-31. Martinsburg (23-4) matched the Huskies basket-for-basket before fading fast in the fourth quarter.

Hailey Garrett had 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead two-time defending champion North Marion to a 62-42 win over Martinsburg in the girls Class AAA quarterfinals Wednesday night. State player of the year Mariah Byard added 14 points and Courtney Swiger scored 12 for top-seeded North Marion (23-0). Eighth-seeded Martinburg (17-9) lost to the Huskies for the third time this season. The Bulldogs stayed close until North Marion finished the first half on a 12-5 run to lead 31-20.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Jacqueline Brewer scored 11 of her 30 points in overtime to lift Martinsburg past Princeton 76-67 in the girls Class AAA quarterfinals Thursday. Fourth-seeded Martinsburg (23-3) advances to play No. 1 North Marion (24-1) in Friday's semifinals. No. 5 Princeton (18-8), playing in the tournament for the first time since 1998, trailed by as many as 18 points and came from eight points down in the fourth quarter. The Tigers went on an 11-1 run to take a 60-58 lead with 3:13 remaining.

BOYS BASKETBALL MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- Sawyer Hollenshead and Ryan Lum combined to score 14 of James Buchanan's 20 fourth-quarter points -- including a combined 10-for-11 effort at the free-throw line -- as the Rockets rallied to knock off Shippensburg 59-56 on Wednesday. Lum finished with 15 points and eight rebounds while Hollenshead scored nine points for the Rockets (2-4). Shane O'Neal scored 11 and Kace Worrell chipped in with 10 in the win. SHIPPENSBURG (2-3)

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - After a lackluster first half, the only thing the Hedgesville boys basketball team was looking forward to was the locker room. Once the Eagles left the locker room to start the second half, there was no looking back. The Eagles intensified their defense and spread out their offense and pulled away for a 56-43 victory over Hampshire to win the West Virginia Class AAA Region II final at Shepherd College and a spot in the state tournament next week in Charleston.

BOYS BASKETBALL BEDFORD, Pa. - Southern Fulton didn't take its first lead of the game until overtime, as the fourth-seeded Indians came from behind to upset top-seeded Conemaugh Township 36-30 in the PIAA District 5-A semifinals Saturday. Southern Fulton, which was merely 1-of-21 from the field in the first half, trailed 16-4 at halftime. The Indians outscored Conemaugh Township 23-11 in the third and fourth quarters to tie the game at 27-all and force overtime. Jeremy Clingerman had 11 points, four steals and two assists for Southern Fulton (19-7)

Royer connected with Mike Hixon on a 26-yard touchdown to lead the Panthers (3-5). Sam Hess recorded a safety. Mercersburg 20, Bullis 7 MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Trevor Baumgartner rushed 23 times for 181 yards and a touchdown as Mercersburg claimed victory. Kyle Fields threw for 207 yards and a touchdown and Eddie Brown threw for 74 yards and another score for the Blue Storm (5-2)
