Linda Mayes Waring stepped up to the microphone Sunday afternoon as soloist with the U.S. Air Force Concert Band, a cool breeze of pleasure swept over the crowd at Hagerstown Community College's Alumni Amphitheater. Before singing a note, Waring got cheers from her special fan club of about a dozen or so Washington County family and friends. Each summer, Russ and Donna Miller celebrate a marriage of music making with a yearly ritual, touring the country and gigging from a mobile stage they unhitch from their RV and assemble. Only this time, they hope to bring a brand new album with them. The Millers have built a name for themselves as Take Two Variety Band, performing a broad range of family-friendly songs at the places they stop. Donna is the drummer. Russ plays the horns or guitar. They both sing. Recently, the couple caught the attention of Truck Camper Magazine and Lance Camper, which published stories about the couple.
