Sharon Leona Divelbiss, 73, of Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown. Born Oct. 29, 1938 in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of Edna J. Fields Fox of Hagerstown and the late Nova T. Fox. She was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith. She loved her family, her cats and all animals. Survivors include, besides her mother, daughter, Linda Twigg of Hagerstown; daughter, Sherrie Trinchera of Warfordsburg, Pa.; son, Paul Divelbiss Jr. of Clear Spring, Md.; son, Rick Divelbiss of Hagerstown; son, Johnny Divelbiss and his wife, Patti, of Mercersburg, Pa.; her loving grandchildren, Heather, Erica, Amber, Andrea, Ryan and Cara; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Houk and her husband, Ric, of Manassas, Va., and their children, Jeff and Wendi; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - The Morgan County Commission voted unanimously Friday to request that the Tri-State Community Health Center appoint a Morgan County resident to its board of directors. Commission President Glen R. Stotler said Friday that the commission will send a letter to the health center and will offer recommendations of people to serve on the board. The Tri-State Community Health Center is a federally funded medical clinic that serves residents in Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Cherry Run Road is expected be closed in the coming days due to bridge repairs near the Morgan/Berkeley county line, the West Virginia Division of Highways said Monday. This road closure will happen sometime this week and will be in place for at least a month, the state said in a news release. The affected bridge is three miles north of W.Va. 9 and is less than a half mile east of the Morgan County community of Cherry Run. Motorists who normally use this road as a shortcut between Hedgesville, W.Va., and Hancock should detour over Morgan County 5 to access Cherry Run before proceeding through Sleepy Creek to U.S. 522.

A Morgan County, W.Va., man has been charged with murder after admitting he woke up from a blackout earlier this month to find his girlfriend strangled in their apartment, according to the Morgan County (W.Va.) Sheriff's Department. James T. Zell Jr. was charged with murder, the sheriff's department said in a news release. His girlfriend, Kelly Elizabeth Butler, 29, was found dead Friday in a cabin in a remote part of Hampshire County, W.Va., where Zell told police he had taken her body, the sheriff's department said.
