George H. Weller, 81, of Chambersburg, Pa., died Saturday, June 1, 2013. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, Pa. The service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Harold E. Yeager officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.

Viewing will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at Mount Tabor Brethren in Christ Church, Mercersburg. The service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the church.

Donna M. Ramsey, 61, of Chambersburg, Pa., died Monday, May 20, 2013. A memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, Pa. Visitation will be Saturday one hour before the service at the funeral home. Donna will be laid to rest with her husband in a private committal service at Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery.

A last-minute write-in campaign has secured Mercersburg Mayor James C. Zeger a place on the ballot in the Nov. 5 municipal election. The Franklin County Board of Elections on Thursday released its write-in results from last week's primary election. Candidates now have a few days to submit documents asking that various spellings of their names - such as John Doe and John A. Doe - be cumulated or amassed.  Zeger's name did not appear on ballots on May 21. However, write-in votes would secure him both the Democratic and Republican nominations for the mayoral spot if he cumulates spellings of his name.

Kayla Hartung, 16, of Mercersburg, Pa., was crowned the 2013-14 Franklin County (Pa.) Dairy Princess during the 46th annual pageant held May 17 at the Kauffman (Pa.) Ruritan Community Center. The pageant was sponsored by the Franklin County Dairy Promotion Committee. The daughter of Robert and Debbie Hartung, Kayla is a junior at James Buchanan High School. She will be promoting Franklin County's dairy industry for the coming year and will represent Franklin County at the state pageant in September.

James A. Hoch, 93, formerly of 204 S. Park Ave., Mercersburg, Pa., died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at The Shook Home. The service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, with the Rev. Matthew Hoover officiating. There will be no viewing, but the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Betty J. Bricker, 83, of Mercersburg, Pa., passed away Friday, May 24, 2013, at 2:15 a.m. surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. Born Oct. 4, 1929, in East Berlin, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Preston and Hazel Himes Smith. She was married to Calvin E. Bricker Sr. on Sept. 13, 1947. He died Dec. 10, 2011. Paige Elizabeth Brown passed peacefully in the arms of her loving parents on Friday, May 17, 2013. She was born May 1, 2013, and was a beautiful baby girl who touched so many lives in such a brief time. She will forever live on in our hearts. Paige is the beloved daughter of Warren and Amber Brown of Mercersburg, Pa. She also is survived by her loving grandparents, Warren and Marie Brown, and Terry and Linda McGovern. Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the March of Dimes Foundation.
