Matthew Kessler of Hagerstown, a student at Mercersburg Academy, has been named a Commended Scholar by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Commended Scholars' scores on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test rank among the top 5 percent of the more than 1 million test takers.

Kiski School 36, Mercersburg 34 SALTSBURG, Pa. -- Trevor Smith threw for four touchdowns and ran for another for Mercersburg Academy, but the Blue Storm gave up 20 unanswered fourth-quarter points in a loss to Kiski School. Five students from Hagerstown who attend Mercersburg Academy were named AP Scholars by the College Board's Advanced Placement Program. The students include: Daniel Roza was named a National AP Scholar. Mackenzie Riford was named an AP Scholar with Distinction David Roza was named an AP Scholar with Distinction. Chuck Mellott was named an AP Scholar with Honor. Christian Binford was named an AP Scholar.
