Maryland State Police said  a 65-year-old man with medical problems who had been reported missing Tuesday has been found safely. Gerald "Butch" Stine was located in a local hotel at about 10 a.m. Wednesday and was in good health, police said.

FREDERICK, Md. - Maryland State Police were investigating a traffic accident Friday on Interstate 70 in Frederick County, according to the Frederick barrack. The accident occurred about 4 p.m. near Bartholows Road, police said, and at least one person was transported to a hospital by helicopter. No further information was available Friday night.

The Hagerstown barrack of the Maryland State Police confirmed a serious traffic accident at about 3 p.m. Friday near the Sideling Hill Wildlife Management Area on Md. 68. A dispatcher for state police said several people were taken to the hospital. No further information was available at 5:45 p.m.

A body was found Sunday near the Appalachian Trail in the Brownsville area of Washington County, Maryland State Police said. The death is being treated as a suicide, police said.

One eastbound lane of traffic on Interstate 70 is closed near Big Pool while workers remove a tractor-trailer that was in an accident at about 6 a.m. today, Maryland State Police said. The accident occurred near the 10 mile-marker.

Five hunting rifles stolen in break-in Maryland State Police are investigating a break-in that happened at a home in Keedysville from which $20 in change and five hunting rifles were stolen. The break-in happened between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday at a home in the 3900 block of Trego Mountain Road, according to a press release from Maryland State Police. The burglar cut a screen and then raised an unlocked window on the front porch, police said. The change from taken from a jewelry box in a bedroom and the rifles were taken from the house's basement, police said.

FREDERICK, Md. - A man lying on Penn Shop Road died after he was struck by two cars early Tuesday, Maryland State Police in Frederick said Wednesday. Leroy J. Hilton, 44, no fixed address, was lying on Penn Shop Road at the intersection with Md. 80 at around 3:30 a.m. when he was hit by a 1983 Buick Regal driven by Michael R. Bankerd, 49, of Monrovia, Md., police said. Bankerd left the scene but returned an hour later, police said. Hilton was then struck by a 1986 Dodge Aries driven by Alex E. Storms, 19, of Ijamsville, Md., police said.

Police search for woman reported missing MOUNT AIRY, Md. - Maryland State Police were searching for a Frederick County, Md., woman who was last seen Friday afternoon. Debbie Grimes, 40, of 13146 Old National Pike, was last seen in the Mount Airy area, police said. She is described as a white woman, standing 5 feet, 2 inches, weighing 135 pounds with brown, shoulder-length hair. Grimes failed to report for work at the Mount Airy Weis Market on Friday and her family does not know where she is, police said.

A woman was killed and another injured last week in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Point of Rocks and Lander roads, Maryland State Police in Frederick County said. The crash occurred at 6:09 p.m. Thursday when the driver of a 2003 Kia Sorento, Linda M. Weddle, 65, address not given, failed to stop at a stop sign on Lander Road, police said. The Kia went into the intersection and was hit on the passenger's side by a westbound 2012 Ford Escape driven by Kay A. Brown, 54, address not given, police said.
