Two Martinsburg men accused of a home-invasion style robbery Tuesday afternoon were arrested shortly after the incident was reported, the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office announced. Roger Carter Doleman, 27, and Raheim Raphael Doleman, 26, each were charged with single counts of robbery, burglary, assault during the commission of a felony and obstructing and two counts of conspiracy, police said in a news release. Raheim Doleman also was charged with driving suspended and fleeing on foot, police said.

Raymond Frank Nowak, 88, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and formerly of Lodi, Calif., died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va. The service and entombment will be private in Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery and announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Helsley-Johnson Funeral & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs.

Charles Edward Miller Jr., 78, of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at his home. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will be at a later date in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Twelve years ago, fewer than 10 employees of the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office formed Blue Knights WV V, a local chapter of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. K.C. Bohrer, president of the local group, said members “decided we wanted to try to do some kind of a community event.” That effort, Martinsburg Bike Night, quickly picked up steam and has continued each year since. On Saturday, the 11th annual event began with registration and a “Baddest Bike” contest at the Berkeley Plaza shopping center parking lot along U.S. 11 north of Martinsburg.

West Virginia Transportation Secretary Paul Mattox points to Martinsburg's Raleigh Street extension project as an example for other West Virginia communities to follow should they have a road-construction need. The 1.2-mile extension of Raleigh Street from West Race Street to Edwin Miller Boulevard, which is expected to be completed in a matter of days, will become a reality because of Martinsburg's financial commitment to the project and collaboration with state and federal officials, Mattox said.

Parts of downtown Martinsburg will be closed to traffic beginning Saturday afternoon for Martinsburg Bike Night festivities, but parking restrictions will start at  7 a.m. in the 100 block of East Burke Street, city police said. Registration for the annual motorcycle ride and rally begins at noon in the Berkeley Plaza shopping center parking lot along U.S. 11 north of Martinsburg and continues until 3:30 p.m., said K.C. Bohrer, president of the Blue Knights WV V, a law-enforcement motorcycle club.

A Martinsburg man was being held without bond Thursday at Eastern Regional Jail after being charged in the slaying of his wife late Wednesday, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court and jail records.  Rickie L.
